my current company, is very considerate (considering we have more than a dozen lawyers for each department) it has rules setting to whom you can and cannot have a relationship with within the company...they understand it happens...like you can hook up with someone in your dept as long as they are not your direct supervisor or manager. you can hook up with any employee, supervisor or manager from another dept, but never ever with a director of any dept. if you have a relationship with a director and it gets found out, one of you has to leave the company

What if it was somebody in another department, and not in the same department or team?

I know everybody is different and would approach things differently, but would it be something women in general would be willing to do?

Never. I choose to keep my private, and work life separated.

I would never have sex with a woman in the workplace. I'm in a leadership position and have too much to loose. If a woman becomes scorned and makes an allegation...true or false, most companies will simply fire the male. This holds true especially in a "right to work state." Companies don't want to take on the liability of keeping a man on the payrolls that has been accused of wrongful doings with a female employee. Besides there are many more women outside the workplace that a person can have sex with. DON'T BE FOOLISH!

I think it depends on the circumstances. If you start getting friendly and there's a genuine attraction, they why not a relationship? Certainly where I work now, a lot of relationships have started at work. But I do say no to casual encounters: it has to be the real thing.

coming from a guy............
to keep a long story short when I first started my career outta school, there was this girl i liked. blah blah blah. well i tried being her friend(this was my goal) and that turned into hell, maybe some remember the posts haha.

that kind of screwed with my head so i had a different apprach to girls in the work force. During my 2 years here ive fucked this one girl all over the place, we even would have mini parties on the roof at night. some of the best times with her. Also hooked up with another girl, then i wanted to fuck this one other girl too, she sent me nudes but i scared her off some how or she was just teasing me i dunno.

and this is a 300 employee company. Cant get any more corporate then this.

and to the first girl who I still dont talk to, that pillow you used to keep at your desk, i fucked on that one night. hahaha. she actually dated someone in my dept, so she didnt care about that either.

alot of people meet there otherside at work.

A recent Match.com study of 11,000 revealed that work/school remains the number one place to meet a spouse. Meeting through mutual friends fell in at number two.

I seem to remember another statistic that said 10-15% of all married couples met one another at work.

According to this Pew Research poll, 38% met their spouse at work or school:

This online poll of 601 voters reveals that 13% met their spouse at work and 19% met through mutual friends, which is how me and TheBF met:

Obviously not everyone considers it taboo!

It's best not to dip your pen in the company ink.

Twas a mistake for me. But the rub is this, most people end up spending most of their time with the people at work, so I can understand where the bond can come from. I mean, when you see your family less than your co-workers, that is just sad to begin with but that's the way the world works. But a lot of times it ends up causing drama and being very problematic.

I haven't in my workplace but I wouldn't rule it out. I agree with many other posters that the politics of doing so are complex and could lose you your job. How do you explain to a potential employer that you were fired for getting dirty with a colleague on the Boardroom table?

Now, having sex with a guy at his workplace in a whole different thing. I regularly fantasize about taking advantage of a certain LPSG member at his place of work.

Depends on the circumstances, a female in a different department, probably. If it was a female boss who was attracted to me whom I felt I could bang in order to rise up through the ranks, probably, though I'd have a sexual harassment lawsuit at the ready if the relationship goes sour (if you break up with the boss, you run a good risk of getting fired, so you want to have the sexual-harrassment suit ready to go)

I have definitely thought about it, especially since I am casually dating a co-worker, so if things were to ever get serious between us, sex would be a possibility. In my time at my current place of employment, there are 2 or 3 girls who I have fantasized about from time to time since we tend to talk, flirt and meet up outside of work (for parties/movies/dinners).

I think it would be okay to have sex with a person in your workplace, if it is with your opposite-sex spouse, out on some oil rig, and you are in your own private quarters, that happens to be owned by the employer.
