Again, I have no idea what image of Europe do you have or where have you being, because wearing a Speedo is not common at all (outside people practicing swimming in a sports pool).

At least is not common in Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, Latvia, Russia and Turkey (if you want to count the last two as Europe)

When I swam in college I wore speedo briefs or speedo only. I loved sitting in the sauna afterwards in just the brief

When I lived in Europe that was pretty much a bathing suit, so yes. Also the same in Mexico and South America when visited there.

All the time. At the pool at the gym, beach, though usually at the beach it's something smaller than a speedo. I wear them because I like them not for someone else

Seems like American men/boys became so conservative in the late 70's to early 80's. Around the same time when porn magazines and porn movies/videos were more available. My thoughts are that regular guys started seeing what these porn stars had packing between their legs and how big they got . Most regular guys can't compete with the guys in porn. So they started wearing longer and baggy swimwear to hide what they had. The guys who continued to wear speedos were labeled as gay .

I think MOST woman would not want to see a guy in a speedo. Maybe if he had a perfect body but still most woman are not lookers like men.
