Yeah that is kinda WHACK

But the racism on that site and maybe others is disgusting. Its most extreme when its a black guy porno and you see all the racism. Probably the same people with the 'big guns' and NRA memberships

I can understand what they are saying though. They were expressing their views. It is understandable.

Some black women and men do feel that way about interracial dating. But it all goes back to my saying..."Truth is a mulifaceted diamond." Everyone is right in their own minds yet wrong to each other...the whole agree to disagree type thing.

Well, it's equally as discriminatory to assume that all Black people share the same point of view.

But alas, what a FLAWED point of view it is!

And the comments on the video. Preposterous.

What I can't understand is the title of the thread" "Wtf black people". Wtf is right.

Seems they interviewed some black people on the video who expressed various points of view.

Basing a premise of a thread titled "wtf black people" on the comments of the few in the video would be like my asking "wtf white people" on the basis of this lame-ass thread.

DJG, I'm glad you are willing to bring up the topic for discussion, and it is not unrelated to major cultural problems among too many blacks.

It may be just "a few blacks" in the video, but there is a cultish expectation (among too many blacks and patronizing whites) for blacks to behave and think a certain way, to be a part of the club. That same expectation is not placed on whites (either by whites or blacks) by the very people who expect blacks to "drink the coolaid." (Before you use the 'racism' card, you should know that I'm black, and I know what I'm talking about...)

There is an abundance of examples to support my point, but I'll just mention a couple things.

1.) 90% of Blacks vote Democratic. Black Republicans have been accused of "hating themselves" and "wanting to be white." There is pressure not to "betray your race."

2.) Blacks despise Clarence Thomas and other black conservatives. Whenever I encounter someone who expresses hatred for Thomas, I ask them if it's because of his jurisprudence or a particular judicial opinion? They have no answer.

3.) Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, etc. were critical of Condoleezza Rice and Ward Connerly because she was out of touch with "black issues." Wtf are "black issues?"

Too many black Americans see themselves as separate from other Americans, and that is why so many--not just the few in the video--vote monolithically and make statements about "black issues." Too many whites are patronizing, letting them get away with that type of thinking and enabling it all the more. Let's not make excuses and address things with an honest look. I think the appropriate response to the video is "WTF black people?" If whites were to make the same statements that were made in the video, we would be all up in arms about those "racist comments." Let's get real.

Well you're entitled to your opinion, and some of your observations have a basis in fact, but I wholeheartedly disagree that "wtf black people" is an appropriate response to a video showing a few individuals who, as I heard expressed a variety of opinions on interracial dating, including some who had no problem with it.

Yes, black people do tend to place a certain expectation of behavior upon one another, something I have railed against all of my life. But that does not excuse someone's attempt to stereotype all of us on the basis of a sampling of opinions, nor should we condone any stereotyping of ourselves on the basis of the same, whether it's common practice or not.

I was not defending or excusing anyone's point of view in the video. Clearly some of the viewpoints are unacceptable to me. I was objecting to the stereotyping of us all based on that sampling of opinions.

Suppose I posted a picture of a hooded Klansman with the caption "wtf white people?!?!"

    Get my point??

To anyone who cant understand why a Black person might feel this way should do some reading. No other Race has been through what the Black race has. Sold as slaves, raped and murdered. This is still going today in the Sudan. Last time i looked 300 black people a day are being murdered. The lucky ones are just sold as slaves or raped. I also think we need to think before we post threads like this. Take a breath and start respecting eachother when it comes to race.
The world isnt all lilly white and never was. I feel shame being white and reading shit like this

NEVER feel ashamed of being white... just like some black peole (myself included) don't play the "victim" role, we also know that all whites aren't at fault for the ills of our people.

As for the choice of whom one will or will not fuck, I say "Eh... it's not MY worry "- I'm not involved in that particular matter, so my opinion means nothing... the opinions of those involved do.:biggrin1:

I think the jews and the irish put up a pretty good fight for that title...thats a bold statement. I dont know why so many people feel so sad for the african americans..enough has been talked on that issue. Like I said, the irish and the jews. Africans, like the sudanese you mentioned...thats a whole different subject than what this thread is about. This thread is geared toward african AMERICAN black people...not just AFRICAN black people :p

DJG it doesn't surprise me that you don't understand the opinions expressed in the video. Didn't you post something a few weeks ago about how you, weren't white and your ancestors weren't from the southeast USA so you had no connections to America's slave past. You inferred that black people who complained about the horrors of slavery should just get over it and themselves. You refused to be lumped into "that category" of white people. Your attitude was to say the least unkind.

I looked in your history but I couldn't find the exact post amongst the proliferation of porn videos you have been sharing lately.
FYI - A great many of those videos are offensive and/or disgusting. More often than not it is your choice of title for the thread that sets my teeth on edge. For example: gay black rough porn, reparations, this girl has more fists than a black panther rally, sick jokes,

If I have confused you with someone else I apologize for making it sound as if you might be a racist.

    You are correct.

    LOL!!!

This girl has more fists than a black panther rally!!! Ha HA!

Seriously, I found nothing what was sad on that video to be offensive. I am glad peopel were allowing their attitudes to be heard, adn were not afraid to say how they thought and felt.

You can legislate alot of things, but you cant legislate love.

Thank you. I hate seeing people full of white guilt. I didn't do anything, I treat black people fairly, and I am not afraid of them, nor do I buy into stereotypes...

...but white men can jump, dance, and can have as much soul as any black man.

The title threw me a bit as well. I'm not going to be down on anybody and New End, as always, says a little and makes a big point. One person cannot carry the faults of a whole race anymore than one race can carry the faults of one or a few.

The awful truth of the matter is that, as NJQT says, the media is skewed on who they ask for in the black community. It is usually the less educated or often classified as "ghetto" black people that the media seek out for the obvious shock value. This is probably the most disenfranchised segment of black america and of course they are going to be bitter and pointing blame. That blame usually falls to the white community in the form of "slavery blame".

I'm not saying I agree with this belief, but I can understand where it comes from, how it is believed to be true, and the few white people who perpetuate it should not cloud the view of all white people.

    Hopefully that made sense.

I think that who they choose to ask matters less than how the video is edited. Keep in mind that any video like this is going to be edited to make exactly the point that the filmmaker wants to make.

True. That is like any medium of expression. "Truth is a mutifaceted diamond."

Those people were expressing their views. It may not ring valid or truthful. It was their opinions on interracial dating. They were expressing THEIR truths.

Thing is: People should date who they wanna date. People have to ask permission to fall in love with somebody. You shouldn't EXPECT that people who are of a certain race SHOULD date their own race. I never expect that.

The problem with your point, friend, is that these views are too common among too many blacks. (You even said you have been resisting a number of expectations that are placed on blacks today to conform to a cultish herd mentality.) The outlandish opinions in the video (granted, not all expressed in the video) are not anomalies. That's the problem. Seeing a white guy in a Klan outfit today would be an anomaly. Perhaps it was not fifty years ago, but in 2007, it is. Your reply, frankly, sounds as if you're more concerned about bad P.R. for blacks, and you're deflecting the truth. That only enables falsehoods to continue....

You illustrate the point I am trying to make. Blacks do not have exclusive province on suffering, pain, or being victims of injustice in history. Why do you think blacks have to be treated with kid gloves, unlike every other group in the world which has suffered at some point in their history? Why are the standards different for blacks so that we make excuses for behavior or viewpoints we do not accept from others? Why patronizingly enable those behaviors or viewpoints? Moreover, why should black Americans feel victimized by the horrors committed in Sudan? Do you feel victimized by the Croatians that were killed by the Bosnians in the Balkans because you're white? (By the way, the Sudanese are being killed by....other Sudanese. Islamists in the north are killing Christians in the south.)

Being more concerned about bad PR for blacks than about doing the right thing will perpetuate problems. Infantilizing and patronizing blacks, holding them to kid standards will perpetuate problems. Let's talk about things honestly...that's the only way we will make progress.
