Is there a larger question here? I mean, reading though this discussion brings up a lot of tangents to the original post and as a collective, it seems like there is a larger issue at stake. I think the question eventually becomes "what are we here for?" Reading through the serious as well as light-hearted comments, I began to sense something rather amazing. I wasn't sure I had the patience to read 4 or 5 pages of this but, collectively, it has a rather strong impact and I feel more than anything somewhat reassured that people care and something as "virtual" as single post in a site dedicated to LP's matters. I learned a while ago the internet has the inherent unfailing ability to amplify misunderstanding or simply provide a stage for it. Even posting photos can generate misunderstanding. But in this haze of miscommunications and faux pas, it is nice to witness a lpsg correcting pendulum in action. Revolutions are fought over words. Peace is also brought about this way. So even in this microcosm (or lpcosm if you prefer) it is like witnessing the true forces of nature to see the trivial raised to great heights and, alternately, the most eloquent contributions trashed along the curbside. That is what continues to amaze me about this site. It is like looking at an evolving work of art. It is like a relationship of what the viewer brings to it and what the artist has tried to convey... all highly subjective to interpretation. And for that, you might continue to find me wandering not just in the galleries of pics but of words too.
(btw, I need to thank MB for explaining the Bond reference... this makes it all much clearer for me and a lot more sexy!)
