I'm not massive but I've thought about it. It's an investment, just like any venture where you're selling your own product or services. If work for yourself (as you should, a lot of porn companies take advantage of their performers, at least before they get big), you need to procure your own camera equipment and/or hire someone to do it (though it isn't impossible to just use an iphone and a tripod), get in touch with ppl willing to perform with you, build a social media presence, and a heap of other stuff.

Luckily enough, it isn't as heard to break into the industry as it was years ago since everyone has a decent camera in their pockets now. You just need the marketable skills required to get others on board with you. Once you have thaf, you're golden

The sex-work landscape now is very different now than it was nearly 20 years ago when I was both young and dumb enough to seriously consider it. While I made a bit of money from (faceless) camming and escorting, I never seriously took porn as an option because it's so permanent. Nowadays I think there's a lot more autonomy and less of a stigma about it, so there's a lot fewer barriers (though it's also a crowded market).

It's been pointed out to me a lot that I've got a pretty good money earner if I looked to get into porn/sex work.

It would probably have an impact on my family if it were to be discovered that I had a career in porn.

Can never rule out a couple of ventures into the industry I guess, but doesnt interest me as a career.

For me it can be a fun fantasy but I think the reality of a lot of porn work is pretty grim. Things change a lot when you're *working* for someone else

A younger guy my wife used to play with several years ago now makes like several grand a month on only fans getting his bbc worshipped by white women, sometimes two or three at a time. Not a bad way to make a living, especially since it's in addition to his real job as an electrician.

@eltoro45 that sounds ideal! People who can produce and control everything themselves (as opposed to corporate or traditional porn studios) can do really well and I don't think the conditions are as difficult since they basically work for themselves and can stop whenever they want to. Or at least that's how it seems to be to me. I'm sure it has its drawbacks but nice work if you can get it, huh

Totally. He doesn't have to show his face, which means he can keep all the porn stuff out of his job and personal life (his kid must be 6 or 7 by now). As you mentioned, porn is an awful industry, by and large, for its participants. So he can minimize the sleaze but still enjoy the best parts of it.

Guy was blessed with a donkey dick and god-like stamina. Why not put both to use and make some side $$$$.

I never really thought about it when I was younger and now in terms of commitments and career I feel that ship has sailed anyway. Yet its still the most common comment i hear 'have you ever done porn' 'you should do porn' 'why wouldn't you do porn'. It gets a little irritating that the first thought on peoples minds if you have a massive dong is, you should get in front of a camera and fuck for money, that is your only logical career path.

Like other guys here, I've had people suggest -- maybe in jest? -- that I should be a porn star. While flattering, I have never considered it at all. First, I enjoy my career in not-porn too much. Second, I don't think I'd actually be very good at it, since I'm too vanilla. Third, I wouldn't even begin to know how to go about doing this. Are there porn hiring fairs? I wouldn't think so.

It certainly wasn't a career, but I guess there is a reason a fat old man has gotten asked (and agreed) to do a half-dozen or so porn videos...

It was fun and flattering. My real career admires me for my mind, so it was nice to be an object once in a while.

I had an experience...I posted about it on LPSG a long time ago...LOL...where I nearly made that mistake...I was actually on a "porn movie" set and decided...thankfully...that "this" was not for me...so I walked...rather quickly...lol...off the set and out of the building and never looked back. Even though the couple who knew the porn "producers" were trailing along behind me and doing their best to get me to come back and change my mind and at least "try it" or some other such comments. I never looked back....thankfully that was one of my smarter life choices...LOL.

During my college years I worked as a gigolo, and, made very good money doing it. I had been approached by a famous, but in my mind also slimy photographer, about going into the modelling industry. Porn was not something that I had considered.

All three of these lines of work have several things in common:
1.) You sell your body;
2.) You have a limited shelf life, and, will become stale eventually;
3.) You are at the mercy of others, who view you as nothing more than a slab of meat, only to be disgarded at some point in time.

Several women remarked back in the day that I should lol, it always sounded fun in theory. But in reality, not something I ever really entertained.
