    Joy of joys!!
    I've found the perfect job!!
I've joined a research team that tags Tiger sharks with gps tags
    to track their movements.!!
I get paid to be in the water and I get to be around these beautiful animals every day!!
    Here are some photos!!

We get to be out in the boat in fairly shallow water where the Tigers hunt for turtles and we chase them in the boat and tail rope them with a noose. We then haul them to the boat and then jump over board to hold them still while they are fitted with the gsp tags and then they are let go!!
Some times we have to swim with them to get them breathing again but it is alot kinder than hooking them with a rod and reel.
The data collected by the study will go towards creating a "green zone" or safe marine park for them.
I feel really blessed that I'm paid to do something that I really love and would do for nothing.

that's the reason that we swim with them afterwards!! We also rock them thru the water to force water over their gills.it seems to help revive them.
They are a trained team that can keep the whole handling process and stress to the animal to a minimium.

Did you know that male tiger sharks have their testicles on the outsides of their bodies like humans and dogs!!
So it is very easy to pick a male or female shark.
Sex and lenght of every shark is noted.
The overall heath of a marine environment can be calculated by the number of apex predators it can sustain.
