My hubby's 40th Birthday is gonna be coming up in Sept. something. I have been saving money for his big day. I will be taking him to "The Cheese cake factory" like I wanted to last year but could not afford it. Also, I will be taking him to the Submarine tour. Also, I am going to take off for a week, or try to anyhow. So we can spend time together.

Oahu and Honolulu submarine tours - 877-742-7893 - Oahu submarines and fun things to do - Hawaii tourist activity Information.

    Menu: Welcome

So what did you do for your 40th birthday or planing to do when it comes up?
I really don't want to think about turning 40! For you ladies out their, do you feel different about being 40? You men, same question..." Are you where you want to be?

I imagine I worked on my 40th, same as I did on 99.99% of the others since about age 22.

It's nothing to worry about.Age IS just a number and you'll still be the same person long after you've passed 40.
I did the same thing at 40 as every other birthday. An Italian meal followed by drinks with 3 or 4 friends.I've never wanted a big party.

"Are you where you want to be?"
If anyone asks I tell them I've achieved everything I set out to do (the fact that I never set out to do anything is neither here or there :biggrin1:).

My mother and step-father took me out for dinner at the restaurant of their choice. It sucked. Someday I'd like to have a real birthday party.

I gave myself a pair of Gucci loafers. They were worth it.

I'm 43 now and I love being in my 40s. REALLY. I was pretty freaked out about turning 30 but then it happened and it was no big deal. I was so busy when I turned 40 that I barely noticed it. With age comes experience and if you keep yourself in good shape you can have the best of both worlds and never miss your 20s, 30s, etc.
BTW, I plan on having one HELL of a 50th b-day party

My 40th started with breakfast in bed at the Ritz in Paris (melon, prosciutto, foi gras, crunchy bread and thick black coffee) and then spent most of the day in bed fucking and alternately drinking far too much Perrier-Jouët (1965). Later (after naps and our headaches were wearing off), my then "life partner" and I played typical tourist whores and hung out at the top of the Eiffel Tower after which we went to some little hidden boite and ate far too much provençal food. The next morning we flew back to the States, had an 8-hour lay over in New Yawk and my aforementioned "life partner" convinced me to take a cab into the City where he bought me an astonishingly expensive chocolate-colored trench coat (waxed thread) at Barneys which I still cherish and wear. A cab ride from Kennedy into Manhattan cost about $25 19 years ago.

Sadly, the "life partner" up and died on me several years later, but he definitely had good taste.

I like yours best so far, On my 40th I went to Las Vegas with friends, ate and drank too much, gambled (maxed out a credit card) and they rented me a boy!

My parnter took me on a cruise. We flew up to San Fran and went on this long weekend repositioning cruise up to Canada. These cruises are very cost effective. The surprise was my family went to...I had no clue. It was really great.

I had a frontal lobotomy on my 40th birthday. Joined the Huguenot Society. Otherwise it was uneventful.

Wow that's almost just like going to Las Vegas with your friends, but you did not have to max out a credit card or go to the Liberace museum.
