So what did you do for your 40th birthday or planing to do when it comes up?
Like most of my birthdays, my 40th sucked. I went to work, then me and a friend went to the best pizza place in town for dinner. After that we went to Kohl's and I spent $300 on a new, work wardrobe for summer because I had blimped out recently. :frown1::mad:

I really don't want to think about turning 40! For you ladies out there, do you feel different about being 40? You men, same question..."
40 was difficult I guess, but not trumatic like it is for most people. For me 25 was traumatic. That's when I looked around and realized all my friends were college graduates, had great jobs, and were married or about to be. That's why at 25.5 years of age, I went back to college to finish my BA.

Are you where you want to be?
Not even close. I was on the right track until this damned Meniere's Disease side tracked me. :irked:

Your in a way better place than most women are at at your age. Hell, I have college money from my 8 years in the Navy and I don't even want to go back to school NOW.

I can't wait to turn 40 next month.

:fest06::friday::birthday::arms::beerchug2::party2::dance:

Congrats. I'll have to at least buy you a b-day beer.

You men, same question..." Are you where you want to be?
I think that I will be by the time I hit 40. I would have had a different answer a few years back. Since then, my health, relationships, finances and career seem to be on track.

When I graduated at 22, I knew college graduates with B plus GPA's who didn't have jobs upon graduating. Some didn't even get internships in 1992. I knew a lady who had a sick mom. The lady also was a single mother. She didn't get the internships and she totally needed and deserved to get one at either Wachovia or at RJR Nabisco. Neither hired her and she had a B average GPA.

Being in your twenties is traumatic. Being young... when you are out in the world trying to make your mark. And I didn't have any relationships at all until I graduated...I felt like I was a teen. I made so many mistakes dating. But I didn't know any better. Yeah, I even fell in love with a straight guy. But I didn't know better then. I didn't have any gay friends at the time. I went to a support group and through that support group...I got involved in the Unitarian Universalist church...then I got out of that church. (It wasn't me.)

Anyway, I worked a few AIDS benefits through the non-profit I was the treasurer of.
There was a lady there that was amazed at how fast I could count money. (I used some skills from my business training in school.) That lady was an owner of a bar. Anyway, through the work at those benefits I got a job working the door and doing auxillary bar management work. I never got to be a bartender but I did some really cool behind-the-scenes things. At the time, I had met and dated a few men. I did get to hook up with some handsome men.

Well, I am about to go to bed.. 1:34 am
I have the Chocolate muffins with chocolate chips. I bought TRICK candles to light for hubby ( he he :biggrin1:). We are going to the restaurant that he wanted to go to later on when I wake up. I got him a 1969 time life mag, a new mini sponge birthday bob! The big gift is the item that I bought and then finished making.. I won't say what..
I know that he will LOVE it!!!
I can't wait!!
He has the WHOLE week for his birthday, not just a DAY. I am sure that he will enjoy that.

I vaguely remember 40. It wasn't the worst or best, in fact I didn't even realize it had happened until a few weeks later when I was given an invite to join a club for men over 40. The nerve of them!

The best gift you'll probably have for your husband'll be you; as is clearly shown by how much you are doing to make his day and week really special.
