Wow doesn't the title look a lot more serious that some of the other ones in this forum. Well, it does say infections on the forum description so I might as well hide my shame and post it here!
Around 2 months ago after having sex with my girlfriend I developed a rash on the head of my penis known as 'balanitis'. I researched on the Internet about it and apparently daily washing would cure it. Which, I'm glad to say, it did! However, a couple of days later I began developing smegma (lovely word
). How many times have I came into contact with smegma before in my life? Hmm, maybe once or twice, but after washing, it never came back. For some reason, this time around the stubborn stuff keeps coming back. It'll be back by that night if I've washed it that morning. I noticed that if I washed down there every 2 days then the smegma was there to a less amount, or non-existent, but.. if I was daily (as recommended) I produce a lot more of the stuff.
I spent a bit of time researching the 'net again and came up with the answer that I had indeed contracted a yeast infection from my girlfriend, and while she sails off to the doctors and gets treated and cured inside a couple of days, my problem lingers..
First off, I'm probably too ashamed to go to the doctor's about it, and I'm not too keen on a 'physical examination'. So, over-the-counter meds is my only option. I bought Canesten Thrush Cream which apparently would be the answer to all my problems, but after applying it twice a day for two weeks, I'm still at a loss on how to cure my problem.
Please help :frown1:
