*correction*

LOL, good point. My sexuality is still heavily discriminated against, but as a black man this is a pleasant surprise. Before Obama even announced his bid, I've said many times that I wouldn't see a black president in my lifetime. Needless to say I'm glad I've been proven wrong.

I really hope this message resonates with blacks in the forgotten sectors of society, black kids who think their only options are to sell drugs or play basketball.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

if I were to have said that, (and I have said it), I would have been called a bigot (as I was when I said it)

Depends on the tone, in the right context I would've agreed with you. Perhaps your wording (as they often do when you talk about minorities) had a condescending tone.

I wasn't saying it to be funny, the black community is full of crabs in a barrell who not only shun success in themselves, but in others.

I had a friend who was constantly beat up FOR GETTING GOOD GRADES. I hope Obama's presidency shifts attitudes in the black community about what can be achieved because he started out like many of us do, no dad, welfare, modest beginnings.
