Here is a very telling compilation video of hearings that took place 4 years ago pertaining to seeming growing problems at freddie and fanny. Looks like the liberal media has been working just as hard as the democrats in trying to blaim Bush and the republicans for this one. Even slick Willy knows the Dems are to blame. They were too busy trying to protect the interests of there constituents, (namely, low income folks that couldn't afford these homes to begin with,) and were attacking the rebulicans for blowing the whistle on these corrupt practices by accusing them of lynching. Democrats are lying pieces of shit.

P.s. What a real piece of lying shit Nanacy Pelosi proved herself to be today. Fucking cunt should be deposed.

There is enough "blame" for both sides to bear. But I tink it is OVERLY simplistic to say that the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac bailouts "CAUSED" the economic crisis. Those were the symptoms, not the problem

There are simple answers to everything don't you know? And simple brute force solutions. We don't need experts. We have common sense.

Like Bush did anything to correct it. This brings the total to TWO 9/11's on Bush's watch - one terrorist attack and one economic obliteration. I pray to God we don't get hit now; it would finish us off.

Bush's legacy? Fuck-all. What a waste of human existence.

Agree. They are actually the guilty middlemen in all this.

Not sure if my analogy will work, but here goes:

The forcing of banks to loan to low-income, minority, inner city and requiring the marketplace to do so... was the "dealer dealing the bad cards".

Fannie and Freddie hit on 13.

The commercial banks simultaneously doubled down.

The real estate market was a deck that had already run out of 7's and 8's, and was so due for a face card.

Dodds and Frank were in bed with the casino.

The Bush Administration handed out a "how to play blackjack card" for beginners.

I blame the system, but I see too much this is all Bush's fault on this board that I have to point out where the Dems failed. Overall it's still the system, but what Pelosi has done all along... is deplorable.

Mark my words, the Congressional approval rating will go single digits again. I f*cking wish my neighboring district (I'm not in Pelosi's) would stick another Democrat in there. It would send a good message to all Congresspeople that your constituency will call you on your shit.

First of all, this video seems to be TOTALLY taken out of context. It's a series of clips edited together. They did not ONCE mention sub-prime mortgages which is the heart of the financial crisis right now. This seems to be more about and investigation into something else going on at Fanny and Freddie. Accounting irregularities perhaps?

Second, in 2004 it was a fucking REPUBLICAN controlled Congress and Senate! Ever IF the Democrats wanted LESS regulation and wanted to "help out" Fannie and Freddy, the Republicans controlled the house, the senate and the presidency. Why the fuck didn't THEY do something about it!?!

What a fucking joke....

Bottom line, it doesn't matter what the Dems said, Republicans had FULL control. It was there responsibility to vote down anything they didn't believe in. So what does that tell you about the Republicans? They sat there, bitched about how Fannie and Freddy were taking advantage and then did nothing?!

Hey, these dudes are robbing my house! I guess i'll just sit back and watch...

Nice try cons!

Swing and a miss!

Most of our representative and appointed government are to blame--that's on the local, state, and federal level. Beyond Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, our collective lack of historical memory, the being "shocked" by what we are seeing today, or in the last few years, which are repeats of past events, play a role of ultimate importance in the U.S. economic condition.

The forcing of banks to loan to low-income, minority, inner city and requiring the marketplace to do so... was the "dealer dealing the bad cards".[/B]
 Please cite a few credible sources for this statement.
Anecdotal, but I am in an area where foreclosures are popping up with greater frequency, plus, I sold a home in an area where foreclosures dominate the housing market in 2007, and both are in established suburban areas.

Further, both do not have a significant minority population, nor is the population anything but middle class. As I understand, many people who are struggling fall into the same categories (suburban, middle-class, non minority).

There are a shit load of factors that feed into the current fiscal crisis, however, no corporation was "forced" to extend loans, the attitude was more they couldn't wait to give money away.

Right now blame the Republicans. They got their little weensy feelings hurt by Pelosi. Also it has been pointed out that those who voted against it are up for election soon and don;t want their constituents mad at them.

Faceking is spot on. For non-believers, Google these terms and enjoy: Community Reinvestment Act and ACORN. Pay particularly close attention to the meddling that went on with CRA in 1995 under the Clinton Administration.

Oh, and one more for you to Google: Buycks-Roberson v. Citibank Fed. Sav. Bank, 1994 (hint: a little-known attorney named Barack Obama was representing ACORN at the time).

While there's plenty of blame to go around, Republican and Democrat, there's Democrat's fingerprints alllll over this mess...

Laughable. The Democrats could have passed it with without a single Republican vote. What was wrong with Pelosi's 90+ Democrats who voted against it?

Yeah blame the republicans. lol. If you havent noticed, the democrats have more than enough votes to pass the bill. The problem is they have 40+ members opposed to it.

Lol. This is hillarious. You have a clear cut record of dems defending fanny and freddie, praising them for their 100% finance loans, clearly BLOCKING the hearing, seeing Republicans clearly concerned and calling for oversight, and seeing the dems reprimand the regulator for "waisting their time"......;and its still Bush's fault!!

you liberals really know how to show your stupidity.lol

At some point you stupid face painted fucks have got to realize that it has been 8 years of republican domination- and you simply can not blame EVERY FUCKING THING on Clinton.
The only persons needing deposing is Bush and his whole administration.

The immature whiney posturing dipshit republicans that voted against a plan their president backed because why? Because Pelosi pointed out who the fuck has been at the helm of regulation? WHo the fuck has appointed the officers that SHOULD have seen this disaster in the making?

The bailout failed because of REPUBLICANS- who, for the first fucking time in 8 years, are NOT backing their own president.
And because of Democrats, who represent districts where 20 years of Republican propaganda about "free markets" has made the people actually believe that letting shit shake out is the "wise" course.

The blame rests with the total inattention paid to regulation and law by REPUBLICAN appointees.
THEY were the ones who were supposed to police the financial sector... and instead they have been accepting bribes, shopping resumes for board positions and generally having a high old time allowing businesses to do whatever they please.

Bush's legacy of cronyism and ENCOURAGING illegal practices... his record of partisan-izing everything from the justice department to capitol hill meeting rooms is coming to a head. The bribery- graft and influence peddling in every department from DOD to the Interior...

YOU CONSERVATIVE FUCKS HAVE BEEN PUSHING THIS "FREE UNREGUALTED MARKET" SHIT FOR 20 YEARS.

and NOW the Democrats are to blame? because more than half the house are Stupid enough to BELIEVE the shit YOU have been pushing?

The Democrats are to blame for acting like Republicans and wanting to see the free market take its toll?

Look... I think conservatives, by and large, MEAN well.
I think liberals are the same.

The CULPRIT is NOT a PARTY!-- its an IDEA about economics that has NEVER worked.
An Idea that has ALWAYS resulted in catastrophes, great and small.

I will never again vote for a republican until I hear ONE of you own up to the fact that your ideas of how markets work, don't work.

And I am not the least surprised that the party that MADE this mess, can't even back the only FIX for the mess they made.

Republicans didn't understand what the fuck they were doing...
And they STILL don't understand what the fuck they are doing.

Democrats are not MUCH better.... but they are, at least, incrementally better at understanding the cost of living on credit.

EVERYBODY get used to the idea- We are GOING to be paying higher taxes, one way or another....

Because all those Cuts and rebates the irresponsible republicans kept giving you was BORROWED money and the bill has come due.

I was watching Colorado News this morning, and they showed a clip of some republican talking in D.C. about the failure of the bailout plan and the man ACTUALLY said "We didn't like Nancy Peloci's tone" ...obviously he meant when she talked about the bailout plan. She must have had a tone or something to him.... I about laughed my ass off from this! It's like these republican politicians who voted no for that reason are in fucking middle school.
