Gay AD - Canadian Version - Google Video

I stumbled upon this while watching some other thngs on Google Video.

I was really moved by this commercial.

I hope that it moves some of you as well, and helps to educate our young men/women not to be afraid of whom they are on the inside.

    Have Courage
    Have Strength
    Have Heart

i can just imagine the response from the fundies here in America to that ad.

Our focus is so much on adult gay males and the problems they have. It is easy to forget what it is like to be male, 15 and gay. This commercial does help focus some of our empathy toward our gay and lesbian teens. They need it.

I dont understand. So both boys are gay, and the one not dancing can tell, so he decides to go offer a dance?

I thought the one not dancing was gonna beat up the other one for stealing his girl at first lol.

Um...wow. I didn't know what to expect from this little clip. I'm not used to being moved by things, but this hit me like a ton of bricks, followed by the Acela train.

Makes me wish I was that brave when I was trying to find myself when I was younger.

One Boy is gay. The other boy may be str8 or curious.

The boy across the way had enough courage and strength to get up, and ask for a dance from who he wanted to dance with (the other boy).

It's a love story. Short and sweet. Its one boys love for another. It's the courage and Heart to stand up for what you believe in.
Extending his hand was a message that said "Come with me".

I think that it also shows that straight men don't need to be rough and tough to not accept a dance from another man.

Not that it's expressing that all str8 men should give the gay side a try, but moreso, a potent message that love comes in all forms, and isn't to be ignored.

Life is an adventure. Why limit how many doors you can walk through.

Exactly. Same as I. I thought it was an important message to our young people, and a reminder of where we ALL began.

It's not often that I post out of ignorance but I want to make sure I understand.

There's a gay lad who asks a straight guy to dance and the hetero accepts. Is that right?

We straight guys should take a page out of the women's handbook and learn some grace and style in rejecting offers that we're not into.

I wouldn't accept a dance. I'm a terrible dancer. I look like a dry heave set to music.

Well, I bet it took some real courage for those child actors to accept those roles.
