Few things ever push me over the edge, but when they do I have no specific coping technique. I just go home and get online or watch tv. Happily, I have short term memory loss so I forget about the whole ordeal within minutes.

Well there's lots of loud talking to myself on the way home, followed by comfort food, maybe watching old movies, and if I'm still pissed off there is a long session of vigorous jacking off (preferably on the pics of one of my LPSG favs) and by then I'm pretty mellow. In fact some days I sorta hope things turn to shit so I can practice this more often!

I cuddle my cat, watch TV, growl a lot and wait for tomorrow. If the day has been THAT bad my mood isn't going to change any time soon so I might as well wallow in my misery and enjoy it until it passes.

Unfortunately such is the life of the average man, filled with stress and anxiety.

FlameBoy be happy you could be me, my stress often starts before sun-up (damn Blackberry ) goes on while i travel to work, work itself and part of the way home. Did I mention saturdays and Sundays.

The worse part is that i dont drink or do drugs to help cope, so it is just my mind -VS- the A holes who give me stress. So far I am winning i think

Texting a friend of mine while having a shitty day never fails. She always ends up cracking me up with her quick wit and we volley from there. Five minutes of that and I start to calm down. I also hug my kid, cuddle with the cats, take a long shower, go online, watch a movie....Now, if what is stressing me IS home? I will either go out for a ride, a walk or simply plug in my headphones and blast this as loud as my ears can take it.

Ordinary bad days are alleviated by texts/calls to a friend or two, provided we can't see each other face-to-face for a dinner and some commiseration.

Really bad days deserve a night out dancing and flirting and (maybe) meeting a beau for a evening's entertainment.

Very bad days I cope by shutting down, enjoying a couple of glasses of wine while reading in bed to unwind and turning in early.

About a month ago I had an over-the-top day from hell: in one six hour period I had two molars extracted; finalized the break-up of a six-week budding romance after having found him to be a liar, fraud and closeted Meth addict; and was notified that a co-worker had OD'd and died. I took a pill and slept for 16+ hours.

• knock off early and go home for a nap if possible
• go for a matinee with my sister or friend
• book shopping always cheers me up
• pints at a pub with my sister or friend in the evening if above options aren't possible
• if i don't feel like going out, watch cartoons or Mario Bava: old gothic horror movies suit me dark mood
• put on my father's old jazz records if i don't feel like watching anything
• snuggle with a pet
• a hot bath and early bed
