I remember about a year ago, reading an English Language newspaper in China, a centre spread article about all the liberty that we, you and us, you the US and us the UK, had lost since 9.11. The article was factually correct.
You inherited these liberties from us and fought for others from us, we fought for all of them before perhaps denying some to others. But it is our liberties, our habeas corpus etc etc that are perhaps our greatest legacy to ourselves and others, be they Washington, Gandhi or Mandela.
That we are flushing them down the toilet because some stupid cunt is throwing bombs at us (and maybe, just maybe he has a reason to be pissed at us, or rather our governments) is beyond belief to me. I have to conclude that perhaps our system doesn't really want us to be free anymore, perhaps we should also be protesting, though no bombs please, we have a vote.
Anyway, I decided that if they forced legislation through against the wish of the people, that I would give up my UK citizenship and live elsewhere. And I will.
