The precedent of protectees leasing space to the Secret Service was set before Trump. In fact, Joe Biden rented space to the Secret Service. That's probably another discussion.

My beef is with the taxpayer having to subsidize a former president's office and office staff, regardless of whether it's Bush, Obama, etc. Once upon a time that may have been appropriate but no more, in my opinion.

Every case I cited (Kissimmee, Jacksonville, Dallas) involved a black person swearing their support for BLM and then engaging in the murder or attempted murder of cops. He's unwilling to acknowledge the sins of the left including BLM, whom Obama invited to the White House in spite of their grisly record.

This is why our country is in such trouble -- the world, really -- as democracy, rule of law and reason are under assault by a privileged few that are successfully manipulating large swaths of public opinion among people who are craving strong men instead science, decency, reason and co-existence.

President Obama led the most sustained assault against terrorists we've seen, using drones in 7 different countries and sending a kill team after bin Laden. There's no being an apologist for terrorists. If one points ot things we've done that has inflamed some passions against us -- it's idiocy to ignore that history. Those who fail to learn from the mistakes of history are condemned to repeat them.

As for Antifa -- they don't come with lethal arms. They are there to resist fascists -- hence the name. One might quibble as to whether their image and tactics are too easily misportrayed and thus counter-productive -- but non-violent resistance to Nazis is problematic in other ways. Antifa hasn't killed or maimed anyone. Moreover, they are not terrorizing people or even hating on them for their ethnicity, race or religion. They're just actively resisting a hateful ideology.
