I was visiting an old friend, when his neighbor knocked on his door. He need some help moving a bookcase, but my friend's back had gone out on him, so he volunteered me. But an older guy probably fears some sort of trick or scam, so he doesn't accept the offer. (There is also the issue of not being able to rise to the occasion.)
