So we covered comedy, drama, and horror. It's only natural that we turn to shoot em up flicks.

Mine in order...

Die Hard Series - John McClane is, dare I say, badder than Batman, Chuck Norris, Bill Brasky, and Jesus all in one? No superpowers or even a utility belt. Just a gun and a shitty disposition. And they only made teh series more badass by adding Samuel L. Jackson. Not to mention the guy that plays Carl Winslow. I'll stop here cuz I can go on all night about Die Hard

Desperado - I was relatively young when I saw this blatent, explicit voilence. This movie is soooooo bloody. I don'n know what to say about it.

Bad Boys - Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are perfect together. "Everybody wanna be Mike Laaaahwry".

Tombstone - Doc Holliday is a bad mother fucker

Heat - The street shootout was unforgettable. Pacino vs. DeNiro. Damn.....

The Seige - Bruce Willis is a badass at will plus he was with Denzel. Can't top that. I'm suprised this isn't my number one. Oh wait.......John McClane.

Apocalypto - Many may not have seen it and it's not in English, but good and vicious.

Starship Troopers - Still can't get over the giant bugs.

Batman - The one with Keaton and Nicholson playing the joker and Kim Basinger's legs.

some others....... in no particular order

Robocop Series
Point Break
Terminator 2
Escape From New York (&LA)
Face Off
Gladiator
Lethal Weapon
Bad Boys 2
Shaft
Enter The Dragon
The Jackal
Miami Vice
Blade Trilogy
Bourne Supremacy ( first was ok too and I haven't seen the new one)
Predator 2
AVP
Matrix Reloaded
Replacement Killers
Ronin
Mad Max Series
The Punisher (Thomas Jane version, he played that role very well)
Judge Dredd
The Kingdom
Full Metal Jacket
Judge Dredd
Hell Boy
Enemy Of The State
Resevior Dogs
Pulp Fiction count ?
Fight Club

prolly some more.........

I have to agree that Die Hard is the ultimate action flick. Parts 2 and 3 weren't as good, but they were bareable and part 4 was a welcome return to form.

Other movies that feature some brilliant action are below, they may not all be "good movies" but the action is amazing:

Mission Impossible 1-3
Cloverfield
Predator
Aliens
Children of Men
Goldeneye
Face/Off
The 'Bourne' Trilogy
The Peacemaker
Speed
Blade 1 & 2
War of the Worlds (Remake)
Terminator 2
The Matrix
Shoot 'em Up (Terrible movie, awesome action sequences)
Wanted (Same as above)

Leon is one of my favourite action flicks - though it is so much more than that.

You list Fight Club - great movie - but I don't call it an action flick.

Someone mentioned Aliens, better than Alien, but I'd still include both.

I too am a big Die Hard fan - the last one was utter, utter shite - but I still loved it.

About half of what is listed above would be on my list, the other half not so much - There's a movie called the Crying Freeman that is pretty fucking good for anyone who's not seen it. And House of the Flying Daggers is great too - but is it really an action flick? (I think yes and no are both reasoanble answers there). What else that hasn't been mentioned... um... I watch Total Recall whenever it is on TV - I dunno if that is 'good' so much as 'fun' - likewise True Lies (though that's worth it for Jamie Lee's dance alone ). I'm sure there are others but I'm drawing a blank at the moment.

Yea True Lies was ok. I usually don't like Arnold but it was OK. But I forgot to add Quigly Down Under.

No, Terminator was ice cold. Man, they ran their asses off in that movie. That bitch was terrified when she found out Arnold was after her ass. Damn near the whole movie, Sarah and Reese fuckin' ran and Arnold wasn't lettin' up. He killed everybody. They better be glad the ended up at the hydraulic plant or he would've got them too.

And Terminator 2, when John was in between them in the back halls of the mall, and Arnold said, "GET DOWN!", you're stuck to your seat 'til the very end. Robert Patrick was like half Arnold's size & he was whoopin' Arnold's ass. That music came on BOMP, BOMP....BOMP, BOMP and T2 took off running after John's ass. Arnold was riding that hog and cockin' that sawed off with that one hand. T2 is iconic. I'm done; I'm too excited; I'm 'bout to watch it right now.

I liked the Terminator with Kristanna Loken as the female Terminator. She was whuppin' Arnold's ass in the bathroom fight scene.

Speaking of Terminator. Christian Bale is supposed to be in a new Terminator movie. I saw the preview trailer for it at the Batman movie.

"Christian Bale has all but finalized a deal to star in the McG-directed Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, part 1 of a brand-new trilogy envisioned by producers Derek Anderson, Victor Kubicek, and Moritz Borman. Bale will play John Connor, leader of the fight against the evil, human-hunting machines. According to Anderson and Kubicek, the movie is set to begin shooting in either Australia or Budapest on March 15, with a budget ''north of $150 million.'' What other secrets did they spill?" Aliens (Alien also but that wasn't really an action movie)
Terminator 2 (better than the first, and number 3 was more like a comedy)
Full Metal Jacket
The Matrix (the first is the best)
Kill Bill 1 & 2
Die Hard (only the first one, the fourth is not bad)
Predator 1 (much better than the sequel)
Speed (only the first)
Face/Off
Mission Impossible 3 (better than the first two)
The Bourne Ultimatum (better than the first two)
The Rock
Hostage
Air Force One
Black Hawk Down
Starship Troopers
The Italian Job (2003)
King Kong (2005)
Planet of the Apes (2001)
Dawn of the Dead (2004)

My favorite director is James Cameron, all his movies have something special, something magical, can't tell what it is. Can't wait for his new one, Avatar.

Mad props, I. Kristanna Loken. You're right. She whooped Arnold's ass on that shit. I didn't care for the movie as whole, but she was a bad bitch in that shit.
