Hey, everybody. I figured I'd ask about what albums held you over this year. Let me know.

In Glorious Times - Sleepytime Gorilla Museum

In Glorious Times - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The album actually came out in 2007, but easily wins for my "best thing I've heard all year" award. I also got the chance to see them live back in May and it was absolutely marvelous.

Not if you know where to look. There were few good albums that had any mainstream success (and I blame the record industry), but if you know where to look, you'll see plenty of good music was released. It's just that much of it achieved only small amounts of attention.

My favourite album of this year comes from Brazil, so most of you probably never heard about him: Zeca Pagodinho is his name.

This samba has something classical in it. I can't explain how. I am not a musician. But you must try and listen to it.

And the lyrics are just wonderful. Much is lost in translation, but anyway:

... A proof of my love for you
so your reason will finally be taught
how to bend itself to your heart... is an excerpt.

    Please try this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyswxdrFnM0

    I hope it works.
