Not sure how other guys junk matches up, but I have a fair amount of space between the back side of my sack and pubic bone area. I did work up to it in the sense that after getting my 1/2" wide one first (had never tried one before so I had no idea what to expect), I saw I had more room and proceeded to go 1/2" wider with each subsequent ring I purchased. For example, I started wearing two 1/2" rings side by side, then I wore a 1/2" with a 1", etc. I wasn't stretching things out like say a ball weight setup, rather I wanted the widest one I could get that was still comfortable sitting and standing, and fit between my sack and pubic bone. I had my last two custom made and specified how many snaps and where to locate them, how long I wanted the leather to be, and of course the width. I wear the 1/2" 24/7, and often times put the 2" one on over it.

As for the 2" one I wear, it is weird how my dick and balls look normal, but in fact two inches of length is hidden under the ring.

Several reasons: 1) by pulling your junk out front from between your legs it offers better air circulation down there, 2) depending on the width of your ring - buldge enhancement, 3) I do PE, specifically jelqing exercises, and putting on a cock ring afterwards keeps that temporary plumpness for well over a day instead of a few hours.
