Yeah, but NO parent wants her daughter PREGNANT. Which is the obvious result of (heterosexual) intercourse.

It's the old trick: Once we become parents, we become hypocrites. That's the whole "generation gap". I know I probably will because I've made some mistakes in my life and I don't want my kid to make the same ones.

Naw, naw, being a hypocrit is still a choice, you can always choose to be a normal human being instead. Obviously I don't want her preganat, that why we discussed things like sex, birth control options, emotional aspects, everything. The mistakes I've made, which are plentiful, are some pretty good fodder for informational discourse. Those problems would be a waste if I didn't use them for something, no?

I think a big advantage I had was that I was trying to have a child when I became pregnant with her, she wasn't thrust into my life uninvited. This made me view her existance as something wholly and completely good, that feeling is rarely shared by those for whom preganacy is an unexpected visitor.

Thanks for the Tucker quote baby, it made me smile. *There be some ignorant mutherfuckers roaming the face of this earth*

jonb, my mom has never discouraged me from having sex... I seem to recall being 14 and a certain mother of mine buying me condoms. So, yes, as she said, she's never wanted to see me wind up with an unwanted pregnancy, but as we all know, heterosexual intercourse doesn't always HAVE TO result in pregnancy, and she's discussed with me at length the various ways that I can protect myself.
As for being a hypocrite, well, she is to the extent that everyone, including myself, you, and everyone else on this forum and in the world at large can be. We're all guilty of it at times, to be sure, but she's really one of the most "real" and honest people I've ever encountered. She really does practice what she preaches and lives the way she claims she does. To me, that's pretty much the least hypocritical thing you can do. Certainly we all make mistakes, and have irrational fears at times, but that's just being human. I honestly do not recall her ever being angry or judgemental with me concerning sex... I remember when I told her I had a crush on a girl I knew, I was afraid she would be disgusted with me, (I should have known better... There really wasn't anything to make me think this, I was just being stupid,) and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that she still loved me and respected me as much as she always had. From that moment on, I've never been scared to share anything with her, as I now know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I can tell her absolutely anything.
So knock it off, this lady is no prude and no hypocrite, we love each other, we eat radishes together, it's all good.

Oh, and Dr. Rock, if you find a bigger hooker on this forum than my mom... RUN. Run like hell.

The problem with Dr. Rock is that he just can't run fast enough.

The problem with jonb is that he loves me and he just won't admit it.

The problem with Julianna is that she's perfect and therefore has no problems.

Gawddammit, It's gud tu beee so fukin smartee!

Yeah, I know I'm an asshole, it's never been a secret. This is not an online persona thing, I am aware that a lot of people see my personality as abrasive, but oddly as it seems, I'll be the first one to expose the rawest detail of myself or my experience at the drop of a hat. If Julianna ever suggested doing something that "most parents" would object to, I'd tell her what happened to me when I did that, and tell her to just be aware of all the possible outcomes.

I think the worst thing I did was probably just being such an asshole that she sometimes found me unapproachable. We've gotten past it now, but I wish I could have softened up earlier.

A wild ride that's fast and dirty, and leaves your legs unsteady even after it's over.

The good news is no one wins a mountain bike still, but Jacinto certainly gets an honorable mention for his creative interpretation of my very lame joke.
