i know i'm not the only music lover here. being that there is such a lack of quality music being produced lately, i've been having trouble finding good tunes to listen to. whatre everyone's top 5 favorite songs of all-time? you know, the one's that always put you in a good mood no matter how shitty you are feeling. i'll start...

1) "Little Wing" -Stevie Ray Vaughan
2)"Bold as Love"- Hendrix (pretty much anything Hendrix and SRV for that matter)
3) "Summertime" - Ella Fitzgerald
4)"Gimme Shelter" -Rolling Stones (pretty anything Stones for that matter too)
5)"Time" - Pink Floyd

i am so fucking jealous. ive been messin with the guts of my strat for the past year tryin to get his tone

Can you get the pickups they use on his Sig Strats?

The man was too fast, and his style was all his own. Kinda like a Texas Jimi Hendrix.

I'll tell ya, I don't care for his music, but as far as actual playing goes, John Mayer is pretty good. I know SRV was a big influence on him.

Mayer has some skills. i don't really listen to him either but he has talent. i've been playing with .14-.58 gauge strings lately, heavy like SRV used, and man you are so right. stevie was a monster. for him to be able to move his fingers that fast with those heavy ass strings speaks for itself. it took me over 2 weeks to learn "Lenny" with those damn strings lol. i dunno if his pickups are available, my samarium noiseless cobalts are pretty badass though. i've come to realize lately it's all about pickup height, heavy strings, and a tube screamer
