I watch mostly DVD movies and am on the net. I don't have cable but all my fellow sibs have cable. If I watch cable, I will watch Ulimate Fighting Championships. I will watch SCI-FI Channel. Spice. DIY Network. Food Network. MARTHA. HBO Real Sex.

It sounds like a good premise, and I watched it when it first came on, but after the first year I got sick of it. I've only occasionally watched it since then and it's all screwed up. And the fat guy should be thinner by now. :biggrin1: Gilligan's Island was much better.

MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY! What the hell is he eating, exactly?!

I will watch Ulimate Fighting Championships.

Now I sooo didn't see that comin'!

I work at home and have either the TV or NPR on all day and night (I HATE silence... 'cause I have a bit of tinnitus).I don't actually watch a lot of TV, but I do hear a GREAT deal of it.

I have DirectTV and watch the following channels:

LinkTV - My absolute favorite channel which is where I catch DemocracyNow and it shows the BEST worldmusic videos.
BBCAmerica - I am a Doctor Who freak!
History International and the History Channel - I love it all and have a secret weakness for the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.
The Travel Channel - I Love Keith Floyd and Anthony Bourdain.
Ovation - I can't get enough of the Big Bangs series and watch the docs as much as I can.
IFC - Ohhhhhhh, how I love this channel! It has the best movies in the televised world and has GREAT original shows like The Henry Rollins Show, The Business, and the Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman.
MSNBC - Hardball and Countdown
NBC - JEO-PAR-FUCKING-DY is a MUST every weekday and I also like Scrubs and the Office (don't watch em' much though).
Comedy Central - The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Reno911, did anyone else love the Stella sitcom like I did that had a brief run last year?
G4TV - Ninja Warrior, Attack of the Show (I am in LOVE with Olivia Munn!)
CurrentTV - If I am really bored
Fuse, MTV2, VH1 Classic, BET Jazz

Yeah, Ultimate Fighting Championships is kinda hot. I am kinda crazy with the pause on my UFC DVDs. Hehehe. I couldn't never be a mixed martial artist. Some of those men are totally fit and hot. I would have a boner and I would have to have top billing. I am lover not a fighter. :biggrin1: My favorite fighters are: Matt Hughes, Forrest Griffin, and Roger Huerta. There are others but I can only remember them by their bodies.

Henry Rollins is hot. And he has some logical and very intellectual things to say.

BBC America. I like "My Hero". That guy who plays the superhero is attractive.

Every morning I zap the TV on to canal 4 (that's Spanish for channel 4) to watch Chronica. It's the Buenos Aires news channel that knows no bounds: if there are dead bodies and body partz flung about from a fresh auto accident they show closeups of the dead and their partz -- lingering on the pools of blood -- before someone covers them with a coat or schmata. If someone has just been hit by a bus and is dying in the street, Chronica has no problem pushing a microphone in the dying person's face and asking "Es obvio vas a morir en las próximas minutos, entonces, queres decir algo para ellos que vean?" (It's obvious you're going to die in the next few minutes. Do you have anything to say to the people watching?) Hah! You think I make this up? Hah, again! There are certainly several porteños who belong to LPSG who will back me up (then run me over).

After sufficient amounts of disturbingly bad coffee (Cabrales) I unzap the TV to read.

Then Friday nights at 21:30 I zap the TV to watch Little Britain on I-SAT.

By the way: Dear njqt466 Paul Henreid? What a coincidence. Paul and I were talking about you just the other day and we both agreed that you are FAB-U-LOUS!

That's because you're not listening: as of the third season, the cast has been in TV time and only about two months or so has passed.

Gilligan's Island???? Spare me the details, please.

It seems all screwed up because the parts are of a greater whole. You'd not expect coherence it you read alternating shapters in a novel, would you?

:yikes: You have a baby! How can you raise a healthy, normal, well-adjusted child in a house without a television?!?:eek: How will she learn to count to 10 in Spanish without Sesame Street?

We have plenty of educational videos, including Sesame Street, on DVD. We just don't have any broadcast TV.

This household lacks broadcast TV. I figure that not having cable has made the DVD sets affordable. After all, you pay X amount of $$ for X+ y channels and can only watch five or so of them. Thoughout the day.

I'd like to be able to subscribe to about 6 channels; that all I want. Not 300 or so. I couldn't take it in. So why bother. I don't watch sports, and think all althetics in tainted by lawyers and egotistical players, don't care for the "war" channels, wouldn't watch golf unless I was paid, can't stand the shopping channels and so on.

I'd like the SF channels, one of the anime channels, BBC, a couple of non commercial movie channels...

Enough is tooo much.
