The Debenham's blue cross sale was on YAY, I decided to stock up on thongs, they're all nice ones on their individual hangers, the front is displayed while the sides are tucked away behind. I got them home, took them off the hangers and some stupid twat had put a load of size 22 thongs on size 10 hangers :) I intended to take them back but they were stuck in a bag for a month so they ended up being thrown.

What bargain buy of yours ended badly?

A pair of soft, velour jeans with embroidery stitched on the side. Only 12 bucks. Two weeks later a belt loop unraveled and left a hole in the side.

    Grrrr...

a gorgeous wedding dress, never worn, with beautiful salmon and pale green beadwork. current style, no damage or stains. $40 at the salvation army in windham, maine.

my husband absentmindedly threw it in the laundry room on the floor. the dog ate some of the tulle lining and the whole thing is covered with dirty dog prints.

I have so many i do not know where to begin. I am sometimes when PMS'y an inpulse buyer.

I think all my worst bargins were bought in Thailand. I am a handbag/shoe whore, so I bought a suitcase full, everything seemed so cheap ( * it was hot, I was perhaps drunk of also cheap tequilla!)

All of them fell apart within months. My 3000.00 real one is still going strong after 3 years of hard wear!!

    xx

I bought a shirt at this discount store for $12, and the seams started falling apart the first time I wore it. That's the only one I can think of off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are more!

    A Coogi sweater (remember those?).

Looked great in the local better-quality clothing store, wore it once and it started pilling all over the sleeves. Took it back the next day and the store gave me a hard time about it. "Looks like it's been worn." Hell yeah, ONCE out for dinner, not sumo wrestling. Finally they just took it back when I explained this was a poor quality garment unworthy of the rest of the merchandise.

They went out of business less than year later.

I honestly can't remember my worst bargain ever, but a recent shopping outrage was was a pair of cute, white, lacey tennis shoes that ripped and got a big hole the very first time I wore them. And to add "injury to insult" they gave me blisters after just a few hours!

Couldn't find the receipt, so I threw them away.

Gorgeous pair of shearling mittens that I've always wanted from a yard sale. Got them home to discover both were for the right hand!

Exactly. The dog is sweet, nice, and more than a little stupid. My husband was just being an unthinking butthead.

I'm not a chick but what the heck
I bought a punching bag for 10% off cus it was the last 100lb bag they had, so I had to take the floor model
I said great it's the same bag so I don't care if people have seen it, I'm going to beat the hell out of it anyway
so I save my 10% and get it home, and it's 70 lbs....
