Who became super popular in right wing male Internet culture - initially for his academic lectures on constructs of hierarchies, which his new audience misunderstood as endorsements of authoritarian worldviews, but his misogyny also reveals itself in his lectures, and right wing ppl liked the idea of having an academic on their side. Over time he has kind of drank his own cool-aid and became increasingly involved in conspiracy theories and weird right wing culture stuff, in addition to revealing more and more his kind of very basic level of critical thinking and social analysis.

Nah, I think they're just gay tbh. They act more queerbaity now but in their older vlogs shortly before and after Dan moved cities to "work" for Bonde, they were clearly obsessed with each other, especially Dan with Bonde. I wouldn't be surprised if Bonde was Dan's gay/bi awakening.
My impression is that Dan just likes fucking with his audience (and it's probably good for business to keep people guessing) but Bonde genuinely wants people to think they're straight bros messing around. The way he awkwardly shoehorns girls/girlfriends into conversations and only in relation to Dan gives off closeted vibes. Real straight guys are way more shameless than that lmao

Their interactions in this video (around 5 mins in) are what tipped me into thinking that they're probably not queerbaiting. They're acting straight up giddy, and Bonde's "now he just has to find a girl" comment as Dan clings to his shoulder with that awkward ass smile somehow makes it even gayer. Good for Dan tho. He gets his friend to wingman for him and then a minute later essentially calls Bonde a bottom to his face lol
I get why people think it's queerbaiting tbf. Dan is one of the most straight-acting guys I've ever seen, and he's 100% dated women in the past.
Afaik they live in the same house with a bunch of other people, including Bonde's girlfriend. I agree with you about Dan but it doesn't seem (to me) that Bonde is really attracted to Dan. Specially after the other comment above showed his non-LGBT-friendly political views.
I wish it was true, though. Dan is smart, he knows he can bank on that
