Sexual orientation is not a choice. Well unless a guy chooses to suppress the feeling and live as a straight man. Older dudes dont just wake up one day and say, oh, i like penis today....
Most likely he squashed those emotions his entire life and just decided to not fight them anymore. I asked my cousin awhile back how many gay kids are in his school and he responded with “a lot” he couldn’t actually give me a number. So I think it’s simply just living in a time where people are more encouraged to embrace their feelings and try new things without being judged.

I think so many men are attracted to men growing up but society is essentially heteronormative so they just abandoned that road which they might have otherwise explored. Maybe if they had had the option to explore and society took no issue with it they might have preferred men.

During my early days, i remember having fun with men in their late 40s to their early 60s. IIt felt better hooking up with older guys. They werent trying to prove anything. Funny about that chart, I am 55 and I got my testosterone tested maybe a year ago and they said it is equal to someone in their 30's. I'd have to look to see if they gave me any numbers, but does that mean my testosterone was "off the charts" when I was in my 20's to 30's?

In my humble opinion, here's my view:

Women are encouraged in more "immoral" circles to be bisexual (not full-on lesbian). Immoral circles = college parties; strip clubs, porn world, swinger meet-ups, etc. This is not the case in conservative circles, although lesbian sex is not deemed quite as depraved as male homosexuality. So, point is: men keep all their same-sex attraction bottled up when they're younger. And, when you age, you start to care less what others thing. And for some, emotional attraction is the motivation, more so than physical attraction. I wouldn't be surprised. That's probably why your testosterone levels were so high at a later age.
