not all the guys in chicago are assholes: all the cool guys are either at home or nowhere near halsted street.

I seriously doubt that you met every gay man in the city.

What's wrong with the Chicago gay scene? I have a few gay friends in that area and they've never mentioned any troubles to me...They're in the 30's to early 40's age bracket so I think they'd say something if it was that bad.
