Dating older women. When I saw your blog I had to respond. When I got out of the Marine Corps and moved to Houston I rented an apartment. There was a woman two apartments down from me and we met on the first day I was moving in. As it was my first apartment she said she would help me with "stuff". She was 12 years older than I was. She had just gotten a divorce about a year before. One thing led to another, and to make a long story short, we started having sex together. It was fantastic from the very first time. Needless to say she was thrilled with my size, as her prior husband had "only three inches and it would do absolutely nothing for me", as she put it. I have been shocked to see how many younger men are interested in older women. Since my renewed single life started I have dated a wide age range of men from age 22-52. I am 46 (a woman my age can simply not hear, "You are hot!" enough times ). I seemed to be most attracted to those between the ages of 32-36. The man I've dated for 6 months or so is 39 - a 7 year difference and that doesn't seem like much to be honest. On an aside though, I was taken by surprise by someone I met by happenstance - he is my age and I'm simply smitten.

I have found that the age thing really was pretty irrelevent - keeping in mind I'm not looking for a life partner nor have any of them been looking for anything too serious. I'm not sure how something like a 10-15 year age difference would play out when the woman was 80 and the man was 67. She's be old and he'd seem pretty young in comparison.

TruckerTexman is 29 and I am 43 and thus far it's not a problem. We both occassionally make jokes about it; but we have enough other stuff in common that age is never a point of discussion.

Think about it, when you date someone plus or minus 2 years of your age do you only talk about age related things? :no: Sometimes I will mention something from my childhood of a pop culture or political nature and he has no clue, and I'm like how could you not remember Nixon resigning?! They took off the cartoons that day, and he's like, "Cause that was like 6 years before I was born!" :lmao:

My advice is don't worry about it. You obviously like each other as people, NOT chronological numbers. :smile:

Many of my posts are in response to this topic. I'm 43 now and have been dating/hooking up with/marrying younger men exclusively since I turned 30. So, it can work out very well.

I divorced (my ex was nine years younger than me) a year ago after ten years of marriage and picked up right where I left off with younger men.
The age range that works best for me is 25-28.
