Quite the contrary, actually. There are a lot more guys advertising such dimensions than guys who are actually that hung. I'm just under the eight inch length, right on the 6.25 inch girth and of the hundreds of cocks I've played with only a handful were larger than mine.

Couldn't agree more on the disparity between those advertising and what they actually measure. Just going by this site, I'd say the average guy claiming ~6.5" is actually bigger than the average person claiming ~8".
This deception (which is often willful self-deception, from what I've seen) is many times more common than honest figures. I'd say, unless they have a proper measurement picture (which is either from the top, and if it's a bit sketchy make sure you can see their feet, or a direct from-the-side shot) don't believe what anyone says.
Even 3% above 8" long is way too optimistic based on non-sample-based, 3rd-party-measured studies. There was a study in Nigeria that measured around 150 men, and the absolute longest guy was around 7.5" long. The Lifestyle's Cancun study didn't get anyone over 9", and the 8-9" range had only 0.8% of their sample included. There's a general consensus this study is much larger than other 3rd-party-measured studies, because they measured only volunteers who knew it was a study for measuring size. It's interesting in their case that since men are preoccupied with length, the numbers skew quite a bit longer, but since most straight men haven't a clue how thick they are the girth measurements are closer to the average in other studies (in fact, 3.3% of those measured were under 3" circumference - that's just a bit thicker than my finger.)
