It really is such a double edged sword. Everyone deserves a chance to change opinion and such but the lack of acknowledgment of his past situations or the damage he tried to cause to the community he wants to be in now in my opinion isn’t okay. No one is asking for a news conference or anything but a social media post apologizing would suffice. It’s mind boggling to me
Even if he didn't officially apologize, if he made some sort of effort to support LGBT causes, especially for the youth that his votes used to demonize. And if you check out his likes on twitter, he's still playing the victim and supports people like Trump, and this administration has shown itself to be wildly anti-lgbt. So he clearly hasn't learned anything and takes no responsibility for what he's done.

I wonder when and how he will come out. Because at this point, it's a matter of time. I'm aware he might choose to keep quiet and live out as a private citizen, but if he chooses to come out publicly, how will he do so? I work in politics - I consult on strategic planning and help nonprofits in government relations, so there are a thousand ways it would go pear-shaped, and the ones I think are most likely is papering over the damage he's done by remaining private or an insincere and overwrought apology, and both are likely.
