I am 46 years old. Over the last year or so my semen has become increasingly acidic(or at least caustic). If I don't clean VERY well after coming my foreskin can become dry, cracked, and excoriated very easily. Same with my pre-cum. Has anyone ever encountered this and can anything be done?
I don't want it to sound like I don't keep myself clean. If I do any edging throughout the day there will be pre-cum leaking out even after I clean up.
Help!

You semen most likely isn't really becoming more acidic (physiology demands that it be basic) or more caustic (again, the pH will remain very slightly above 7). Your skin could be getting more sensitive over time, though.

Keeping clean is good, but you may have developed a sensitivity to laundry products or soaps you use in the shower.

Be careful about any chemicals you may use that could come in contact with your genital area; try cleaning as thoroughly as you can, for a while, with only warm water. Or see a dermatologist or urologist.

I heard somewhere that your semen can be affected by what you eat. Maybe ur diet is affecting it. Otherwise, Doctor's office right away

Have your bloodsugar tested ASAP!

Eating celery will make your cum sweet! Now thats a study I was part of.

The water theory doesn't hold any!
There is not a single scientific study that drinking lots of water is any better for you.
We are what we eat. Coffee, Spicy foods Ect. will put too much Acid in or system. Water will help and so will a change of diet. Water is the most important nutrient to the human body. We cant live without it.

True but we extract it from coffee or pepsi, whatever. I was talking about a scientific study. Can you come up with one? Bet you can't!

Yes nick , eating and tasting.

Water derived from cafeinated sources like pepsi and coffee are counter productive. Caffeine is a dieretic so it causes dehydration in the body. Therefore, pure water offers the futher benefit.

I said it twice do I have to say it three times. SCIENTIFIC STUDY!!!!!!

Im not talking about a study. Im telling you what a doctor told me many years ago. Certain foods have high levels of acid in them. Eat Hot Peppers every day tell me how you are pissing fire and your cum stings. Water will buffer the acid levels and so will milk. You cant Extract the proper Nutrients we need to live from Pepsi or Coffee and not drink any water at all. We would die or certainly wouldnt live a long life.

The major things that have a major effect on all bodily excretions are the things you put in.

Diet is only one of the things that can have an effect. Supplements that you take including some over-the-counter vitamins will have a major effect on everything coming out.

Medications are another area where you will have effects.

My suggestion first would be to look carefully at all the things that you are consuming as a starting point.

There are also several medical conditions that can have a profound effect on what comes out.

Though what you have sounds simple and innocuous for the most part it could also be brought on at your age (and you're younger than I am) by prostate issues.

If all else fails to explain the change (the significant word here is a change from what you had been) the next best thing to do is to consult your physician or Urologist......

the whole argument is too black & white. water is needed in moderation to flush the kidneys, more so if you drink diaretic fluids such as coffee and so on.

aside from the common sense of including water from a non-diaretic source in your diet, i would not say it is essential to drink lots of pure water, nor would i say there is no evidence that shows the benefits thereof.

simple: if you lose more than you put in = bad. during dehydration the concentration of pH either way is a risk dependant upon diet. anything else is opinion, conjecture and fuel for this utterly pointless fire. get over it and stop arguing. get back to discussing what to do about ACIDIC SEMEN more directly or to hell with all of you.

Doctors get there education from scientific studys!
The ones who make up their oun I would stay away from.
You may be right you may be wrong.
I was just asking for a study. Hint hint, there are none.

You can't be serious? Maybe you should provide some evidence to support your claims.

And maybe you should yours.
Last week there was a big to do over this in the news.
The fact that there are no scientific studies to support the water theories.

Celery will make your cum sweet.
Asparagus will make it awfull.
