Adrian conrad

Well, if you’ve known him that long then you would know his father is Ethiopian. Also, his dad can also be Jamaican. I have a few white friends that grew up in Jamaica. Jamaican is not a race lmao

By any chance did you screenshot that story with his dad? I mean, to add to your file of genetic research. Could you post?

Met him a few times. Super nice

Him and Jonathan Morgan are really good friends. Probably strictly platonic but a guy can dream

The real tea is that Adrian lost all of his good friends after he started working with Tyler Perry. Which is funny cuz I've heard similar things about other TP actors.

If true, are you saying there’s a stigma for sexy young actors who work with a powerful gay producer like TP? Has this affected Brock O’Hurn, too?

No, that's not what I'm saying. As far as what you're saying - I do know since I work in casting, that his shows are categorized as Soap Operas, and people definitely put them in a different category than other actors, which is sad. However, a lot of stuff is changing in the past year and people from his shows have finally started to land other roles on major networks like Tika on Mixedish, Nick Sagar on SuperGirl and QOTS, and Tyler Lepley on P-Valley.

What I was saying was that for some reason, the attractive men that work on his shows seem to immediately become secretive about what they're doing and with whom. I mean beyond being secretive about storylines and that stuff. I've heard this from agents, managers, friends and family of these actors...in addition to personally knowing some of them.

Yeah, especially soap operas and definitely productions based in the south. Very conservative atmospheres compared to, say, a comedy shot in L.A.

Tika's been getting booked. She probably could have moved on to something else a few seasons ago. She has no problem getting work.

Independent movies don't pay well and the movie she was in with Tiffany Haddish is one of the lowest grossing comedies of the decade. Name something else she's a series regular on? All I'm saying is she wasn't exactly in the clear until she got Mixed-ish which is Major network therefore the SAG residuals are more than double that of what she gets on Have Nots. Also keep in mind that Have Nots is filmed two to 3 seasons in advance. The next two seasons are already done.

I was thinking of the Ride Along movies when I typed my previous message, but I forgot that it has been a while since they were released. Regardless, Tika has still been getting booked on different shows and movies beyond THATHNs.

I know she has, but her roles in Bessie and SSWU didn't get her any clout in Hollywood. They were a while ago too. Tyler Lepley had his own movie and the son on the show was in the Toni Braxton biopic. It didn't advance their careers. That's all I'm saying. If any of them had been on a show for 7 years on a major white network, they would have had more offers. She's a good actress though and I hope she can turned Mixed-ish into other diverse roles.

Back to Adrian, I'm wondering if he's gonna be somebody's love interest on the show. I don't wanna ask him and have him think I care that much lol. Imagine he's the gay son's new lover or something lol

Okay my ears just pricked up. There’s a gay character on this Tyler Perry show? Please please please let us know if Adrian’s character is connected to him :yum
Lol yeah there's a gay son. Adrian's role hasn't been announced yet. The new season starts in January.

Ok clearly I need to start watching this show lol. That guy’s a snack!
the show is trash. I mean it as someone who gave it a long long solid chance. The story goes hardly anywhere and lingers on the few small plots for way too long with dialogue written to pad the run-time but is ultimately meaningless.

And I think this is the only 2 seconds of nudity in the whole show.

His name is Gavin Houston. IDK anything else he's been in

Because it's categorized as a soap opera. One storyline is supposed to just roll into the next, but I agree that it doesn't work when it's a weekly show that's only on for 12 episodes at a time. Some characters have had their entire season take place in the same house, or the same hotel room, etc. He tries to keep the costs down for the network but DAMN some of this stuff looks CHEAP. Even when they got the slight budget increase a few years ago I didn't see much difference in storyline.

The scary thing is...the ratings are amazing. I don't see them changing the formula any time soon.

I'm not sure how all his tv productions seem so...underfunded. Especially after the hoopla of him opening such a massive studio.

I watched a few episodes of the show starring the woman who plays Bam and Jackee Harry. I think it was house of Payne. And my god. The editing was so so bad. People made jokes and dead silence. freeze in place, and 5 seconds later the laugh track comes on. It all looked like it was filmed in one take.

Or his animated Madea movie that looked like it was made in flash. None of what he does has longevity. They all seem like flash in the pan money grabs yet they're all basically syndicated and getting a ton of reruns.

I want to like his work, but he's so stretched with so many different projects that i don't think he puts time into anything. he just comes up with an idea, writes it overnight and boom, done. Next one.

The money for the massive studio was from his deal with VIACOM. Viacom owns BET which is why his BET shows look slightly more expensive. HAHN is from OWN network, which is smaller, so more conservative with budget. They did give it a little bump though, but you're right. Looks cheap. However, he said in a recent interview, he knows what those fans want. Money on special effects and car chases would be a waste of money.

Yeah his shows from UPN like Payne etc were even worse! Jeez.

Sorry for getting off topic everyone.

Thanks for the insight. really put a lot of things in perspective! Hopefully Adrian's time on the show helps the audience overlook everything else going on in the background.
