Alan Ritchson * Actor/model

Or ya know... 51.1% of the US population (which is women). Not sure the producers are giving 2 craps about 1.4% of the population (which is gays) in this case. :joy:

A very large percentage of people who even know who Alan Ritchson is is indeed “the gays”. So, it wouldn’t be surprising for writers/producers to keep that audience in their mind. While we should all know that men who have substantial same-sex attractions, passions, desires, affections is definitely way bigger than 1.4%. Hell, I’d guess that most of the guys who regularly post in this forum are closeted or “low-key” in “real life”. Never mind that a decent percentage of fo’ real “straight” men like seeing dudes with buff bodies and good looks hooking up with chicks and kicking ass. It’s a self-insertion thing. So, your perspective here is a bit one one. And as much as I fvck with you, some of your internalized phobias do creep up in some of your posts/replies.

I’m talking generally about the people who know Alan Ritchson by name or have kept up with his career. A large percentage of those are guys who are horny for him. Executives think about all demos and all ways of getting ratings or buzz when it comes to casting, promotion and the content of a show. They are also aware that “gays” do a good job at promoting hot dudes or their “faves” online. That’s partially why a lot of straight-presenting guys on social media start off by trying to low-key appeal to “the gays” before their audience gets bigger and they move on from that. It’s not as one-note as what bigboaster was presenting.

The first thing I saw Alan in was that "Blood Drive" show on Syfy. Then I realized that he was on "Blue Mountain State". He definitely looked different in that show compared to now, but still hot!

The current "casting couch" is run at least in part by openly gay men, so actors have to do their best to impress without appearing easy. (Same as actresses from the time they were allowed to portray their own gender on stage.) Ritchson has the right build to play the characters he is cast as. You do believe he can survive a fight scene that a smaller actor or actress might take some eye-rolling to accept.
I have appreciated him for the class he showed in "Smallville". He was clearly out of his depth acting-wise as "Aquaman", though he looked the part, and when the CW did a pilot they chose Justin Hartley to play the character. Alan didn't whine about it. When the pilot failed, and Justin was given a role as Green Arrow as a consolation, Alan appeared in an episode that season as Aquaman and would sporadically do so until the end of the series. Probably opened doors for him in "Blood Drive" and "Titans" because of his professionalism. He now not only can act but he looks even stronger than ever and can carry a show. Imagine if he'd just refused to ever work with those people again?

Am I the only person thinking every time I see a new photo of this dude he just gets hotter?

Every one of these is a dude I would happily let break into my house at 3 a.m. and break into my ass about 5 mins later. Ufff.
Those 5 mins would feel excruciating
