Another Pointless What Is Average? Topic

I've been told that I'm big from all the girls I've been with and I'm confident because I do have a pretty big penis (7.25x5.5) but I've never understood why people on the internet will sometimes describe seven inches as average or normal? The official surveys have said that the average, common, and normal sizes are 5.5-6 so I've always been confused why people on here will worry with their 6.5-7.5 inch penises. Obviously none of us are as huge as some of the guys on here, but we're pretty big and long nonetheless. Maybe I'm bitching over nothing but can someone maybe explain why guys in this range or even people that have no idea what they're talking about will try to say that 7 is average because that's just pretty ridiculous. How can they think that the standard of a man's size could be compared to a length that long? I'm sorry if I seem crazy or angry and I could be wrong (that would mean that a lot of people and my own eyesight would be lying to me though) but that's just my thoughts on the subject since I myself am a member of this range and I actually get kinda offended everytime someone misinforms everyone with a seven is average comment or post. I think that part of it has to do with the fact that in the society we live in "average" isn't good enough. We all want to be special, and to a great degree when it comes to penis size we think bigger is better. I should clarify that by saying that "we" tends to mean "men". I've met very few women who actually want the biggest penis they can possibly find. For most, average is more than enough because there's more to sex than size.

Perhaps another reason men have skewed perceptions of penis size is due to porn. As a straight man, I rarely ever see another man's dick except for in porn, and porn is by its nature designed to skew perception. It's made to look like every guy has an 8 inch dick and that all the women love it. Not the case. However, mentally I'm forced to compare myself to what I've seen in porn. Comparing myself to a porn average is ridiculous, yet it's what I and probably most men do all the time.

For the guys with really big dicks, there's no question. It doesn't matter what average is because they are far beyond it. But for the guys who know they are statistically above average but are comparing themselves to porn there is a disjoint in perception, namely they are big but unable to perceive themselves as being so.

By no means am I trying to be an authority on the subject. I've just spent too much time thinking about it and thought I'd throw in my own two cents for the sake of discussion.

They have to tell themselves that 7" is only average, so 9" is just big, 11" is pretty big, 13" is huge, 15" is monster etc. to keep the fantasy going. Most of the time they think 7" = 9", 8" = 10", 9" = 11", etc. anyway.

There are definitely a lot of topics like this, but yes we do seem to need a conversion factor for 'real inches' vs 'internet/porn inches'. One thing you'll notice a lot is that when we actually see porn actors - ones well-known for having big dicks even among porn actors - measured here, they're generally around 7" long, yet will often claim 10". Variability is another important factor that people overlook. Just knowing an average doesn't tell you what big is, unless you know how much it varies by. I think that is part of the problem. When I was younger I was pretty close to my size now. I thought I was really tiny because of porn.
