I'm sorry you don't think In the Heights has a story? lol You definitely have no ideia what's like to be latin living in a different countryIn the heights was boring and the movie wasn’t the box office hit it was expected to be. I don’t mind singing and dancing as long as there is a story and has good pacing,

Then you paid no attention to anything. The story of their live and struggles were throughout the film from the first song. As others have stated, musicals don’t usually do great box office numbers unless they are stuffed with big names in pop culture. Dear Evan Hanson and Westside Story have each had low numbers. While movies like Into the Woods/ Les Mis fill their cast with big names, despite some of those big names (Russell Crowe) sounding like electrocuted walruses. It’s hard for successful musicals to translate to box office successes especially when it’s a predominantly brown and black cast of mostly fresh faces. In the heights was boring and the movie wasn’t the box office hit it was expected to be. There are musical movies that I did enjoy like mamma Mia and dreamgirls. In the heights was not one of them.So you watched a musical, knowing it was a musical, just to complain about it being a musical??? Make it make sense

Both are stacked with all star casts and are easily the most commercially digestible. So what you’re saying is that you either disliked the music because of language barriers or use of hip hop or that the story was too complex for your brain to comprehend…There are musical movies that I did enjoy like mamma Mia and dreamgirls. I know I didn't like cats or les miserables either. I just didn't like the story and the constant singing type dialogue. I would preferred some dialogue followed by some songs.. I tried to watch the movie twice and it didn't capture my interest. Both
