Arching Your Back?

So for you fellow guys out there, is a bottom arching their back purely for the looks of it or is it supposed to help make things easier when bottoming? I've never asked anyone before but every top I've encountered always wants me to and I've never understood exactly why.

Arching your back raises your ass, making fucking easier/better, in my opinion.

It also looks hotter.

In most guys, the rectum has an S shaped curve to it and the arching makes that section of hole more comfortably take the thrusts of a linear erect cock--especially long ones. Guys like me, who are into taking huge toys and getting fisted, generally don't have that problem because the S curve has been straightened from continual stretching and use.
