There’s a whole number of reasons one or neither may not want to be fully open to the internet including privacy, safety, not opening up their relationship to more parasocial fans, the list goes on lol.
The only thing to draw from is it is that they don’t want to be open for whatever reason, which isn’t exclusive to just them either considering how many ‘secret’ couples there are in that friend circle
But they're not a secret, they're openly a couple now, especially with Austin paying to fly him to Japan to hang out with his closest friends. Maybe I'm missing something.

Austin did say he was in a relationship and his boyfriend said that he was a housewife or something along those lines.
They never said the name of their boyfriend but they've been together for about 2 streamer awards now, openly, on camera, on photos, hanging out with Austin's friends and Austin going to Florida to hang out with him and his friends back when Christian was in college.

From watching most of these streams, it seems to me that the "friends" thing is pretty much just a running joke at this point. Both Austin and Christian have dropped comments about them living together, sleeping together and boning lol. (Will has also made some jokes related to them being a couple)
The people who need to know already do (friends/family) so I don't think it really matters to make it "internet official" or whatever 'cause there's nothing to gain from that?
