Axel hotels

Stayed in the Barcelona location about 3 years ago. Everyone was friendly and nice but I found it to be overpriced. It’s located in a nice neighborhood with local places to eat. We really enjoyed walking around the area and visiting stores.
Restaurant was good as was the breakfast. Rooftop bar gave a nice view.
If you’re expecting a bathhouse this isn’t it.
The staff helped us go online and buy tickets for the Sagrada which saved us hours in line and I mean that literally. You must see the Sagrada while you’re there but purchase tickets online.

Stayed in an AXEL hotel in Berlin. The top floor had the gym, hot tub, and steam room. I worked out in the gym a couple of days, but I could see that the steam room and hot tub had some action going on. Guys would go to the hot tub outside, then to the steam room, then back, then the locker room, then take a shower. It was kind of fun to watch.

The hotel room itself was interesting in that the shower walls were glass on two sides. As you enter the room, there’s a short hallway before you get to the main part where the bed is located. Well, the wall on the left was one of the glass walls of the shower, meaning that as soon as you open the door, you are looking into the shower, and anyone who might be in it. If you’re sharing a room, you need to be comfortable with your room mate, because there’s no privacy there. Except for the little toilet room, which had a sliding door you’d close when you went in. It was a fun stay, though.

I’d avoid the one in Barcelona. There was a nasty homophobic attack right in front of their hotel and they were downplaying the gravity of the thing. Just for the sake of tourism. Don’t give those assholes your money.

The attack was a couple attacked with a hammer and it was right in front of Axel.

Went once a month in bcn and it's the perfect place not expensive and we have the spa for 10€ extra . Just the bar is quite expensive .

The staff is really niceb
