I just wanna tell anyone who does that shit, that I hope you get what you deserve for trying to manipulate people. What you're doing should be considered a form of sexual assault.

I keep seeing these fucking threads over and over and over. They end up deleted most of the time, but fuck man... It's overwhelming.

What the fuck is wrong with people? Aren't there enough fuckin dicks on the internet to look at? Why the actual FUCK does anyone need to fish for more? Pathetic motherfuckers.

And don't even bother with that "you know what kind of site this is" bullshit. It's nothing but a fucking excuse and you're still a piece of shit who should get off the internet all together.

I'm sorry, @Tight_N_Juicy but, I'm a bit dim to all of this. What are they doing exactly and what can we do as men and women and as a group to stop this bullshit?

Baiting is when someone lies/manipulates someone to get nudes.

Catfishing for pics. Or just plain old catfishing.

I log in and go straight to the forums.

I see the title "BAITING" and I'm like WTF? Not another!

I don't remember what the old ToS was like. But I know it was a Hella lot stricter than this new bunch of rules.

Stricter rules and more Mods and have/let Rob clean house!

Oh, I certainly understand that and have replied to other threads regarding it. Although this has happend to me, I'm quite sure that it affects our female members far more.

We as a group can keep closer track on the members, however admins need to keep close track on IP addresses, which I believe they do. These people always find a way back in though so we really just need to stick together and force them OUT. They're a sad bunch and deep down they know it and like fleas and ticks if they leave here they'll move on to another site.

I don't know about them, but I'd think twice before messing with you. Let's see what we can do to make them wish they'd prefer to be in hell. ;)

Actually most of the time I see people trying to bait straight men. On this particular website anyway... In general yeah it happens a whole lot to women too on other platforms.

It's not ok to do that to ANYONE. I report it when I see it, but I just had to vent anyway.

Very true. And that is in part how we lost @Tosantos. I always treated him with respect. I knew he was completely straight and he knew I was completely gay, but we had great conversation and I miss him a great deal. You are very right and it boils down to respect and common decency. However, that's difficult to find in the internet environment. You've certainly haven't had any problem in getting your point across pretty much all of the time, but with these sorts they don't read and don't care. It's pointless and the need to be eradicated.

Oh I know they don't care .. but I encourage everyone else to be vigilant and report when you see that shit!

“But I want what I want,” they wail self-centeredly.

:rolls eyes:

NCbear (who wonders whether baiters should be best dealt with via publicizing their game [“doxxing”])

I don't support doxxing, but I will do everything possible to keep the fuckers from pulling that shit here.

Actually most of the time I see people trying to bait straight men.

A number of dudes have sent me personal messages wanting to know me. I don't know why since I have no pics nor stated sexual preference. I block them. Incidentally, I'm 100% heterosexual and VERY happily married.

Baiting is horrible. So is catfishing. They are different activities, but both are damaging.

Those baiters seem to feel that if you send nudes to someone, or participate on the internet, then you actually sign on for this. You know the risks, so this actually is your consent to have your nudes splattered across the internet for everyone to see. Sick, disgusting behaviour. Apparently laws are catching up with it, but as always pretty slowly.

Catfishing is more emotional. It’s torturous. Nudes are can certainly be involved, too, but also money and so much more. Years can go into it. Again, sick and disgusting behaviour.

Both activities happen here. Baiting is easier to report. It’s a quick hit for nudes, sometimes the baiter will ask for cash to do it for others - that’s a clear violation of the TOS.

Catfishing is harder to report. It’s embarrassing to have been fooled for months, or even years by someone, and have an emotional connection. Plus that person “has something on you”, photos, real life information, so one might not want to cause any problems.

But seeing the sudden uptick in baiting? It’s creepy. Ick. Anyone who participates should be banned in my opinion.

From seeing some of the bait threads which had been linked elsewhere, it seemed as if most of the originators were very juvenile, either chronologically or mentally. A good number of the threads started off with introductions such as "Just saw this HAWT DEWD on [social media site] and now I *NEED* to see him naked!!!! Who can help me bait him into sending me NEWD PIX?!?" Seriously, what type of adult - and I assume everyone on LPSG is of adult age - behaves like that?

So what you're saying is that people "bait" others into sending nudes pics of themselves.
Why would someone send pics like that to anyone, let alone an anonymous person on the 'net.

Well, the baiting piece involves either sending the person stolen nudes, or otherwise gaining the person’s trust so that they will send you nudes of themselves. It’s completely based on deception.

It’s one of the reasons some of the women here get approached to help guys bait - they want our nudes to send to straight guys. No one here has ever taken them up on their offers.

Given the availability of nudes online, I'm guessing one of the reasons the women here get approached is that the victim is specifically trying to avoid being deceived and is asking for some kind of personalised sign or video that the baiter obviously cannot provide

True. We can be ‘authenticated’ while stolen pics can’t be. Photoshopped pics can be spotted more easily.
