I feel a kinda stupid asking this, but... How do you get a metal cock-ring on? I've only ever had a rubber (latex?) one, which stretches. So I can stretch it out to get it past my nuts, then let go when it's in the right position. But I just got a metal one, and since it doesn't stretch I don't understand how to put it on. Maybe I fucked up by getting the same size as I've had before—are you supposed to go up a size for metal ones? Or is there some simple technique that I'm overlooking?

That does not look like fun. I don't see myself squishing my nuts through something like that.
And how do you get it off? If it's restricting your blood flow, and your wiener stays at least semi-erect....

i just tried it and was too much of a pussy to get it on. you've gotta be willing to seriously squeeze your nuts, evidently, and it does hurt. maybe you get used to it?

Boys, boys, boys-- There are different models you can use. Some go just around the cock. Some go all the way down to the base, so that both your cock and balls are through them. When it comes to first experiences w/ metal cock rings, bigger is always better. I prefer the ring that goes around everything. You start out with a flaccid cock. Slick everything up with your lube of choice (saliva, KY, baby oil, etc). Slide one ball through the ring, then bring the ring up close to your body and push the second ball through the ring. At this point, you can check correctness of size. If you release the ring, it should hang on your scrotum, held up by your balls, but not be painful at all. Next slide your well lubed mostly flaccid cock through the ring so its in contact with your balls. You can push the ring up a little closer to your groin at this point, and give a few happy tugs on your cock. It should all feel snug and comfortable. If you feel any pain at all, get some cold water on your cock and reverse it out of there the way it went in, pronto. You may need to start with a larger size ring. Better that than a trip to the ER with a potential embarassing (and worse, cock & balls threatening) emergency! As your cock fills with blood, the fit will get more snug. You will probably feel more of a fullness there, the color of your skin will be darker, and surface veins will be way more prominent. Share your new and improved cock with someone you love. Your cumshot will probably not go as far due to the restriction at the base of your cock, but volume should be unaffected.
After ejaculation, as your hardon subsides, remove your cock from the ring first, then the balls next, one at a time. You may need a little more lube to get things out, but I doubt it. Enjoy! I've been ringin' for about 10 yrs now, and I definitely enjoy it.

Well I love mine, and it's a lot easier to get it on then what ya see in that video. Ilike to get all my scrotum through the ring first, no lube or lotion in my case. Once the scrotum is through I move one testicle through the ring at a time. Once both are in and the ring is between my cock and balls I add some lotion where the ring will sit around my cock (under my balls and over the top of my cock). After that I move my cock through the ring using my dick to keep the balls from returning through the ring. Once the ring is on......I use lotion to keep any discomfort or pulling on the skin. Be careful not to get a ring that is too uncomfortable or too tight, and don't get one that is too loose. I had thick ones earlier in life and found the perfect one. Check my pics if you're interested. If ya feel discomfort, immediately remove it with lots of lube or lotion, you shouldn't feel any pain or discomfort.

Latinluva's explanation is right on target, I'll attach some photos that demonstrate the technique. In those photos I didn't use any lube, which definitely makes the process easier. The rings I am using are industrial Teflon™ O-rings, which only cost a couple of bucks apiece. I usually advise guys to buy a whole assortment of rubber (Buna-N) O-rings of various sizes (15 to 20 cents apiece) so they can experiment and find the exact size that works best for them. That way when they invest their money in a nice metal ring they'll know it's going to work OK for them.

Great advice. Been ringing here for the last 5 years. No pain just rock hard pleasure. I use both adjustable and fixed rings. The surgical steel ones feel the best in terms of weight, heft but the adjustable leather ones feel the best for hard edging.

you guys who've been doing rings for a long time, do you clip hairs where the ring will lie around your equipment at the top of your dick and under your balls for a non-irritated fit and a better feel from the ring, or do you not trim 'cause it's not a problem ?

I shave where the ring will sit around my cock and balls, I put oil or lotion to keep it sliding around. Otherwise it will grip and pull on the skin. Sometimes having hair on that particular area keeps it from griping on my skin.

Not me, I'll stick with the rubber/latex ones. I always feel like if I get in a panic to get it off, I can cut it. Only problem I have with the rubber/latex ones is that they tend to pull at my pubes when I put on or take off.

My experience thus far is this:

Metal is one of my favorites due to the look and feel, however they are not for beginners at all. If you go to my pics you'll see my Triad Master series and it's the most expensive/complex one I got. The hardest part is getting your balls through and there is a bit of discomfort in doing it but I like the reward. I also had an issue where the shaft ring of the triad was actually too small for my shaft, everyone's worst nightmare, and I had to use ice to help with removal. Ended up switching to a larger size. Still, for experienced cock ring lovers, this is the best I've found now that I have the right size.

Rubber/latex: I don't like them much, not enough restriction and they actually tend to be the worst with pulling hair and agitating skin. There is also the issue of lube limitations since oil and silicone based lubes won't work well with their respective counterparts.

Leather(real or not) is another favorite and imo, a good beginner ring. I bought mine (see gallery) for cheap on amazon, only $6 all together. They get the job done but there are a few things you must be careful of such as keeping pubes short so you don't get them stuck in the clasp, and maintaining the material. The metal snaps also mean you don't get a full range of restriction to your liking. Also, poorly made ones can dig into your skin and leave you sore after removal. Still, i like them much much better than stretchy ones.

Now, i have no idea what type of metal ring you have, if it's a triad or double for the cock and balls, than you should know that you put your balls through first, one at a time. It may be a little discomforting but just take it easy, you can use lube if you want but that may make it harder for you to handle as well. You also must stay completely soft while putting it on to get your dick in.

If it's just a single ring then you can just ease it on one ball at a time. Once one ball is in you can hold it in one hand and slowly slide the ring up with the other and normally that does the trick, guess it depends on how big your balls are, i've known guys who's balls were literally too big to fit through the opening in the ring which kinda defeats the point.

As for clipping, with metal rings it isn't necessary but it does help show em off ;). With rubber and leather, i'd highly recommend it.

New user to rings (latex), slowly getting comfortable to what is enjoyable, without pushing the boundaries too far. No hurry though, all good.
