I tried it during lockdown mostly out of boredom (not to get a larger dick). One has to consider that they're really good at marketing, mainly through paid influencers, appearances in forums (like this one) and presenting their products as a "journey".
In my honest opinion, the number of problems that occurred using bathmate outweigh the temporary benefits.
benefits:
- if used properly, your dick feels thicker (or kind of swollen) for the next days. It's a nice feeling, but it also feels kind of wrong.
- i noticed that during this temporary phase, erection were a bit more stable
contras:
- a lot of skin tissue scarring can occur, which quickly lets your shaft skin look older
- the lymph fluid that is stuck in your penis can also lead to swelling in the urethra and peehole and this can eventually hurt or stretch that area. In general, I wouldn't mess with it.
- you can only use it when fully shaved. I tried it a few times with trimmed pubes, and all my follicles nerves got inflamed. that was really uncomfortable for the next weeks.
- One time, the pressure on my crotch was so high (but necessary for the thing to work) that my pubic bone hurt for weeks and also the vas deferens hurt for a while. really scary stuff.
All of these things occurred a few days AFTER I used it, not during the procedure. So I wasn't aware of these things while I used it.
And no, I didn't use it wrong. In my opinion, it can be really harmful, because it doesn't fulfill any medical standard.
Pumps like these can make sense when you have erectile disfunction and you can get advise from your urologist. They would probably recommend another type of pump.
This one you can occasionally use for fun as a sex toy, but please don't believe in the whole "journey" thing. There is no data on what the pressure does to your sperm or your urethra etc. and I don't really think it's worth it. In the end, it might lead to scarred skin, worse erections and physical harm to your precious organs if you use it consistently.
