Highly unlikely story, however of the kind you would read in a magazine. No idea if it's true, but I recall reading in a magazine when I was "younger" that he had somehow ended up in Copenhagen without any cash on his hand and without speaking other that a little Spanish and some local creole dialect. A lady of the night spent a night with him and was so "satisfied", she contacted Color Climax the next morning - earning herself a finder's fee and Bill a job for a few weeks before he disappeared. The crew had a very hard time communicating with him, so he's completely passive in all the flicks.
At the time Color Climax was a major player in porn.
The pictures are clearly from a tropical setting. All the videos I've seen with Bill have been made by Color Climax and have been recorded at their studies at Strandlodsvej in Copenhagen in the late 70's or very early 80's.Highly unlikely story, however of the kind you would read in a magazine.
Firstly, the pics suggest to have been taken in some tropical setting, possibly in the Caribbeans. Secondly, the movies seems to have been shot at some resort. Thirdly, the furnishing consists of a lot of exotic materials such as rattan or wicker.
On Wikipedia he is referred to as "Bill the Bull" - an "Afro-American regular". According to IMDB he partcipated in several short films or loops between 1979 and 1980. Being uncircumcised, he was probably not American. If there's some substance to his linguistic background in the cited magazine ("a little Spanish and some local creole dialect") I'd guess on him being Haitian. That would add up well with the name "Francois" stated in some of the posted pics in this thread.
How can you be sure that the films were shot specifically in CC:s Copenhagen studios? The pictures are clearly from a tropical setting. The interview I've read was given by Peter Grundtvig Theander, the owner of Color Climax.
Unlikely? Well, it's probably a 50/50 chance. Either it's completely bogus or its true. No way to tell really.
Could Color Climax find a random guy like Bill on a Caribbean island and fly him to Copenhagen for 3-4 flicks before the invention of the internet? Now that seems even more unlikely to me.
Have a look at the exterior scenes from 1:05-1:35 - does it look more like a tropical island than Europe to you?How can you be sure that the films were shot specifically in CC:s Copenhagen studios?
It's not impossible in any way, but I noticed the abundance of wicker work furnishing, and that in some scenes of "Black Hammer" you can see a full wall glass sliding door, as if there's a patio outside. That surely does not look typical of any Nordic room in the 70s, rather it looks like some kind of resort hotel suite in a warmer place.
CC most likely came up with this idea of featuring a "bbc" guy, and went on a trip to, say, Haiti, where they found this guy (who apparently was quite young). The photos were taken for gay magazines, while the videos were recorded for the straight audience.
It's not impossible that they offered him to return with them to Denmark for the sake of the superior recording quality that a studio could offer as compared to a portable unit.
