Bladder Neck Incision

Was wondering if anyone has the answer to my question, be great if another man who’s had the experience or a professional could answer it.

A few years ago I had a “ Bladder neck incision “ operation, due to the slow process of taking a pee. I wasn’t told until after the operation that my ejaculation would be very little or non existent due to the procedure. Before the operation I had a healthy amount of ejaculant, now after the op it’s more or less stopped. I was wondering if there is a way to get back what I had before the op?

It seems you are suffering from "retrograde ejaculation" - you are still producing semen, but it is going into your bladder instead of out the urethra.

If you were only weeks or months post-surgery, I'd say it might get better. But, a couple of years out? Sounds permanent.

Yes as I thought. Thanks for replying to my question.

Why the heck did they not tell you til after the operation? Most doctors have a discussion about the pros and cons of doing any surgical procedure, beforehand, and this should have been mentioned.

Not sure guess he forgot, only mentioned it afterward.

I, too, had a bladder neck incision, and now have retrograde ejaculation. I have been to a urologist with the exact question you asked, and he told me that there was only about an 11% chance of reversing the problem, and would not even attempt the process. I do not know what the process is, but I have talked to someone who had this done, and he was able to ejaculate after the procedure, but it wasn't too much, and just 'oozed' out, did not shoot at all. I know how you feel about this. I grieved for the loss of ejaculation for a long time, but finally got to a point that orgasms were no longer painful, and they got super intense as well almost to the point where sometimes I almost have another orgasm. Did the intensity of your orgasms increase? I do shoot a little every now and then, but just a very small amount, but the only thing that bothers me now is how a potential partner might react to this. Other than that, I've accepted it and you will too in time, but you will grieve for it for awhile. As long as you are still getting pleasure from orgasm then try to focus on that.Good Luck to you,

Thanks for the reply. Must admit I was surprised when told “after” the procedure that the ejaculation would be a lot less, bit of a shock. Evidently most of the sperm goes back into the bladder when you come, which causes it to run out instead of shoot. Still have orgasm but not so intense, the nice feeling seems to end quicker.

Have a friend who had his prostate removed so no ejaculation and although he misses it the intensity of his orgasm is amazing.

Like Squirell1, that seems a signifcant omission to me. You don't say how old you are but my guess would be that the doctor assumed you were of an age when you would not be wanting to father any more children and that therefore ejaculation was not a necessity, just a nice to have, but that trouble-free urination is necessary and thus didn't want to put you off. That isn't the way treatment should be done, though. He should have explained the pros and cons so it would be you who would have to decide whether to give up on ejaculation in order to get trouble free urination.

Hi, at the time I was early fifties . I do miss shooting four plus feet.... but hey, guess I am getting a bit older now. Around 90% of the time the orgasm isn’t as sustained as before, at times seems to finish a lot sooner . After he informed me that most of the semen goes into the bladder instead of coming out, that why I probably have around a teaspoon full slowly ooze out.
