Seeing the actual explosion, it may well have been worse
especially if the explosion was amongst a mass of finishers / bystanders
So geuss can be thankful for that?

So sad. My thoughts are with all of those affected

From Sky news

Roupen Bastajian, a 35-year-old state trooper, had just finished the race when he heard the first blast.

"I started running toward the blast. And there were people all over the floor," he said.

"We started grabbing tourniquets and started tying legs. A lot of people amputated. ... At least 25 to 30 people have at least one leg missing, or an ankle missing, or two legs missing."

So many people are affected; and yet Sky news focuses on the fact that x number of Britons were in the race etc etc and how will this affect the London marathon.

I can assure you that American newspapers do the exact same thing when there is a deadly incident abroad.

I have been outside all day long and just in. Husband just told me about this terribly event. What is supposed to be a happy day has become a nightmare for so many.

There is never a "good reason" for such senseless acts of violence against innocent victims. My heart hurts for these individuals, their families and friends.
