    I know Oprah and incest making guests appear to be the rage this week but something very important has happened in our society that we need to address. WHERE THE FUCK HAS ALL THE LIBBY PUMPKIN PIE FILLING GONE???

    I have been to seven major stores in Orange County...four seperate towns...you can't find it. I have emailed the Nestle Corp...no response yet. I don't feel comfortable not having a can in the house in these economic times. If you have it in your pantry gaurd it with everything. I expect the hording to continue as Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas desserts are in jeapordy.

    Please, in your prayers tonight, pray the situation gets resolved without anyone getting harmed. God Bless

    libby's is one of my favorites, but hunter & hilsberg makes an AWESOME filling too. i don't know if it's in stores, but you can get it here:

    I couldn't help myself...there they were, sitting on the grocery shelf...lonely...unloved....abandoned. I could NOT walk out of that store without them!!!!

    OH!!!! I would NEVER COOK that PPF...(how uncouth - to bake and eat something soooooo..unusual.) No, I just keep those cans in my pantry..hoping they will get to know each other...and make MORE PPF..

    (It is a sick, sick, SICK addiction...)

    What can I say? I'm a PPF WHORE!!!!

    Don't shame me but I don't used canned pumpkin pie filling.... I make my own--- I steam the pumpkins that I grow in the summer and take the meat out and run it through my food processor after I take the skin off and the freeze it and then add spices to it once I defrost it and am ready to make a pie with it-----its better for you and not filled with all those preservatives

    and you can save the skin to use for compost for next planting season!

    I know it is an unnatural color out of the can....but

    If I come across any of this horrid item, I will ship it to you directly. I can't stand pumpkin.


    Well, that's not entirely true, I have enjoyed pumpkin bread at times baked by my sister. However, she uses only fresh pumpkin.

    I'd blame distribution efforts and reassessment of those efforts. There are products I'd love to have in my own state, but have to settle for getting them on a visit.

    MANHATTEN SPECIAL is what is not found in my state. I have to go to NYC for cases every now and then. It's not available for the post.

    And then some people who want SCREAMING YELLOW ZONKERS must go to Maryland for that. (I don't.) MOXY COLA is found in Maine.

    Etc.

    I can't get over the American fascination and seeming dependence on processed foods.
    Get a pumpkin (which you could buy for the price of 1 tin) and make the pie filling from scratch, spoon it into plastic clip lock bags, push the air out of it and freeze it.
    Depending on the size of the pumpkin you'll could get over 4 cans worth the filling for the price of 1.
    I believe Martha Stewart has posted recipes for pumpkin pie filling on google Food that even a 10 year old could follow.

    thanks luv, but freezing, I believe, would alter the texture

    (but I may be wrong ... no one would impute exceptional culinary skills)

    And you don't think pumpkin puree with all the associated additives, pressure cooked in a sealed can wouldn't?

    I found three cans on the 10th store so I got the pie made for my friend visiting that loves Libby's pumpkin pie. Now I will hoard the other two until needed. I conntacted the company and they too are saying bad pumpkin crop last year. Not sure I believe this as I grew up in the pumpkin patch of the world..but any rate. They say they will have some in the stores in a week. wating waiting waiting ;)
