Bravo's Below Deck

The drama seems to involve a very upset Aesha, and Luke is the only crew member she does not follow on Instagram. So I am thinking you may be right.
Nice detective work. Hopefully Luke's replacement is a hot young buck

non-dick related question. (although I'm happy for any shots of Alex or my future husband Eddie). Curious how much they actually make. We see them getting tips (usually in the 1500-2500 range per charter) which they divide equally-and generally they do 2 charters a week. On top of that there must be a base salary-obviously the chef and bosun cant be making the same money as the the third stew who does the laundry. Then on top of that, they're on a tv show, so they have to get money from Bravo on a SAF/AFTRA contract.

Also-do we assume the charter guests only pay the tip? or do they get a discount--if not, why would you want you very expensive vacation filmed with people trashing your behavior on national tv? And you would think the tip money (20k+) is not something the guest would always be carrying around with them in cash

Well, Eddie and I are happily married. He's in the backyard now giving our lab a bath and I just told him to hurry if we're to make the 4:00 showing of Barbie. Sorry

That said, good questions! To be gender non-specific, the grown child of a friend of mine worked in recruiting on the show and told me they could make around $150K a season, for the crew salary itself apparently pays very well. As you said, they're also tipped for each of the 9 charters and then they're paid by the network as well.

The topic of pay was also being discussed on a FB page when Captain Lee chimed into one of my post and while he gave no details, he conveyed the crew is paid extremely well for their six weeks of work.

It was said early in the show's run, (by either Kate or Capt. Lee, can't remember), that the guest's discount for coming on the show was about 50% and the average daily rate to charter the yacht was around $100,000. I'm not sure their information was accurate, but those figures don't check off anymore. A record high tip was paid on the 10th season of the pilot show, (I think 40k??), and when the episode aired on Galley Talk, it was commented that was more than the cost of the charter.

The topic of tip remains a mystery, for Defense will not allow more than $10,000 in cash to leave the country without declaration, and when Kate was asked how the guest get their cash to pay the tip, she responded " I don't know" which was the only time she gave that answer to a question in six years of interviews.

Good questions. Eddie and I decided to have lemon drops by the pool and catch the 6:00 showing instead.

I read somewhere that the guests do pay, as they want it to be at least semi-realistic, but Bravo pays for their airfares to/from destination. Would be curious to know what a non-filmed charter season is like, in terms of tips and wages

If you're on the show and can make the tips plus a salary plus the Bravo money and can work 6 weeks and bank a ton of money I guess it's worth it. They still work like dogs and aren't always treated very well--dont know how they can drink so extensively and then get up and do a very physical job for 12-16 hours the next day--ah, youth...now--back to cock

I'm 4 episodes into Down Under season 2 and finding it a bit boring. Not enough volatile personalities. Everyone a bit too nice. We need a nutbar chef with a glass jaw, or a 3rd stew who refuses to take orders. Or Kate. We need Kate.

Episode 5 is great TV

Anyone think Adam might be bi / gay with all the butt play? Or is it more gay for pay?
He gives me bi vibes. One of the girls in last night’s episode was coming onto him and he wanted nothing to do with her. Granted, she’s just average looking.

It was so funny how she just immediately moved on to the next guy. And then in the morning, she tried to find out if Adam was jealous, and he just didn't care. Poor thing is trying to create love drama but she doesn't have the looks to carry it off.
