He's not a PA State Representative anymore, so he's not a local politician right now. He ran for Lt. Governor last year and lost to fellow Democrat, Davis, who is PA's now current Lt Governor. The Lt Governor spot was up for grabs because another Democrat, Fetterman, was running for, and later won, one of PA's seats in the Federal Senate. That seat was open because a PA Republican, Toomey, quit politics to join a financial firm that had lobbied him and he had voted for while in office. So your info, and implication by choosing to use the word "ingratiate", is off on a few counts there.
