Connor Franta denied he was gay at one point and so did Joey Graceffa. And people would go off like a train whistle defending their straight identities, and how dare people assume because someone is gay-friendly and uses gender neutral pronouns that they are anything but straight. Connor even dated several women in high school and college, which is way more of a track record than Cameron. Connor also admitted making most of his generic angsty/ f*boy type tweets gender neutral because he was questioning his sexuality (not as some denialists would suggest as being some PR strategy to gain maximum relatability)—though he would once and a while throw in one about a girl or a girlfriend to try and throw people off the scent. Point being, there is precedent even within Cameron’s direct peer group. And for the record, the last (and only) time Cameron said anything about not being gay was in tweet from 2013 (which doesn’t rule out that he might be bi).
