There's no shame, just peer pressure more than anything. A male human body is something to be proud to possess! If anything it seems that it's a trend towards an infantile and pre-pubic look that is more "fashionable".

The video in the link is about shaved versus unshaven in terms of attractiveness. I personally am very turned off by body hair on the chest, upper abdomen, and back along with the upper thighs and rear. Sometimes arm hair can be an issue too.
