Day two since starting my regimen, but still cannot find celery seed - in any form - at any store I've visited in Bangkok. I thought, at the very least, I'd be able to find McCormick's or Lawry's celery seed in the spice/cooking aisle at the supermarket. Nope - they have virtually everything else, including "celery salt", but no celery seed. I went to a farmer's market tonight. No luck there either. It's beginning to look like I might have to order some online...I'd just rather not wait 8 weeks for it to arrive by Thai mail.

On a related note, not a single pharmacy here seems to know what pygeum is either.

I may try the local Chinatown next week. If it's an herbal thing of any kind, you can typically find it at some store in Chinatown. If I can't find it there, I give up.

You can order celery seed from amazon.com. Another source is swansonvitamins.com they sell a celery extract. I get my pygeum in a prostae formaula from swansonvitamins.com also contains saw palmetto and stinging nettles. I have seen a noticeable increase in my precum

If the seed is from Apium graveolens, then it is seed from the celery plant, which is the common vegetable. I am unaware of any "celery seed" that is derived from a different plant. What is the reference your your statement ?

Celery seed shall be the dried fruit of Apium graveolens L. The light brown to brown seeds have a characteristic aroma and warm, bitter taste. Celery seed is the dried fruit (seed) of a wild variety of celery called smallage which grows to a height of about 18 inches. It is not derived from the vegetable of the same name. The seeds seldom exceed 1 mm in diameter.

Apparently you have the wild harvest variety of "smallage" which was apparently wild harvested from marshes in England and Europe, but the vast majority of celery seed is from the domesticated variety. It would be very difficult to meet the bulk celery seed demand at the cheap price it is sold at, through wild harvesting. Ref: Garland, Sarah, The Complete Book of herbs and Spices, 1979. Also, nutritionally, one teaspoon of Celery seed is 8 cal, 0.4 gm protein, 0.8 gm carbs, 0 gm cholestorol, 3 mg Na, 0.2 gm fiber. Ref: Netzer, Corrine, Encyclopedia of Food Values, 1992.
I doubt that there is much significant difference in the amino acids, vitamins, and mineral content between the domestic variety and the wild harvest variety.
