I think cervical tilt, and especially position can really give the 'second opening' type of sensation. During some times of the month, in some positions, the cervix just balloons back and doesn't give a lot of tension. Other times, the cervix holds itself firmly against the other side of the vagina, so you have to push past it. Just like you have to warm up to entering the vagina originally, often one needs to warm up to getting past the cervix. I think most stories of some dead-fuck ramming it in and having clumsy, awkward sex is because they didn't bother taking their time getting past the cervix.
